"The service at the Neela was unparalleled. The staff were unfailingly pleasant and helpful, but never fawning or in the way. Make sure to visit not only their downstairs cafe, but also their rooftop restaurant. Highly recommend."

"Spice Palace Hotel was a great place to stay in Stone Town. The breakfast was better than I expected (omelette served, location was center of Stone Town, staff was very helpful and price was great. My only complaint was that the pool could have been warmer. I would stay here again. Stayed 5 nights."

"Overall excellent property, staff, and experience. The highlights included a swim up bar, perfect sunset views, friendly staff, and a very nice gym (by travel and Africa standards). First time I have ever been at a hotel gym where a fitness trainer is available for advice. A few people took him up on it and he definitely knew what he was doing. Great ambiance in the hotel with very Arabic architecture that is beautiful. They arranged cars into town and excursions as desired."
