This place was absolutely beautiful and very historic. The cherry on top was the AMAZING service. We only spent one night here but wish we were able to stay more. Very close to the water and lots of shopping around.

This was a neat place to stay in the heart of the old part of Stone Town. Quaint, but with modern amenities like AC. I had a private bathroom down the hall which was clean and not far. Older building with stairs but I enjoyed my stay and felt it was worth it for sure.

Stone Town is an amazing place. The hotel is well located and the decor is simple but classy. The roof terrace was great and breakfast was adequate. I took a room with a bathroom down the hall and it felt as if I was in a house. The staff was friendly and helpful.

A beautiful hotel, with lovely friendly happy staff, who always gave a huge morning welcome at breakfast time. Delicious healthy breakfast and the best coffee, I've tasted in a long time, I had to go back for another. I felt very safe and it's in a great location to get to/from the ferry and to walk around to the shops and restaurants.

Staff exceedingly friendly and helpful. Night doorman concept annoying. Coffee shop concept can result in needing to wait for hotel service. Water is hot but pressure non existent - you can get more pressure pouring a water bottle on your body.

Great boutique hotel

Fantastic boutique hotel in the middle of stone town. Staff were all fantastic and the room was exactly as in the photos. Loved the little historical items especially the coffee themed ones. Highly recommended

It’s a great stay here. Plenty of character , rooms are nice! The coffee itself is quite strong but the breakfast is amazing and staff are lovely. Good location for walking distance within the rest of stone town too.

Memorable stay in Stone Town

Our stay at Zanzibar Coffee House was great and unforgettable. The room was a room to remember, with great architecture. The personell and facilities were amazing. The breakfast was good, and the place was nearby everything you need in Stone Town. We will definitely come again if we are nearby, and would highly reccomend it to all travellers.

A cozy maze of coffee-scented history

An excellent spot in the Stonetown. We stayed a couple of nights in Espresso. This location is near to the harbour area, and many shops for souvenirs or daily needs. The room was clean and spaceous, a slight surprise was the separate but private washroom - understandable in an old building with history and character. The service is excellent, and the breakfast was very versatile. High recommendations!

Outstanding performance by the staff! Had a great one night stay in this charmed small guest house. And you what a wonderful place to be a guest. The staff greeted me by my name and dit every thing in a high class hotel standard. The rooms, roof terrace, and other areas is clean and very cozy. I did not eat the free breakfast, but I enjoyed a delicious fresh coffee with a view. I highly recommend this place if you need accommodation within this price range. 😎🇹🇿❤️

if you’re in Stone Town, this is definitely a great place to stay. Beach is nearby. Manager is amazing, he provided someone with an umbrella, let me borrow a charger adapter, gave me a map of the town, helped me get to the beach, offered complimentary drink & I was able to check in early. I loved it here so much. The rooftop was amazing, the food was excellent & the staff was friends. I felt safe here & very welcomed. Thank you for hosting me!

Excellent property and superb service. Incredible coffees and pastries and a rooftop view that will left me feeling like I was on top of the world or at least this ancient city. I loved staying here. Just the hotel itself is an awesome discovery full of history and beautiful design/ architecture.
