Gray’s Court is absolutely exceptional. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel genuinely welcomed, warm, attentive, and incredibly hospitable. You can tell they love what they do, and it shows in every detail.
The atmosphere is something special, elegant without being stuffy, and steeped in history while still feeling comfortable and inviting. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to linger just a little longer.

We were greeted warmly by our hosts Neil and Sheila. We stayed 4 nights and I wish we could have stayed more. They have gone beyond the call to outfit each room (actually a suite) to a very high standard. The beds are wonderful and the linen is fabulous! It is French linen and we have never slept in such fine linen. The breakfasts are great. Everything is fresh and piping hot. Even though we were only a 10 minute walk to the shops it was wonderfully quiet as we sat out on our little patio and...

We had a wonderful 5 night stay. A quiet village on the edge of the moors with cozy country pub. The pub food was spectacular! I’m not exaggerating… the chefs are top notch. The pub staff were so friendly and helpful too. The room was comfortable with a full king size bed and small well stocked kitchen. If we lived in the UK, we’d visit every year! As Canadians, we’ll have to wait till “next time “.

Old manor house converted into heritage hotel. Lovely gardens and park area leading to a lake to walk around in. Felt relaxation melting into us. Continental buffet and hot English breakfast provided helped to get us going in the morning. Real silverware service used. Helpful and friendly staff.

Emplacement merveilleux. Chambres correctes, salle de bains un peu petite. Petit déjeuner correct. Parking avec valet très bien considérant l’emplacement.

We were so pleased to find the Rose and Crown, York. We had a lovely room with plenty of space for a family of four, great breakfast, friendly staff, free parking and excellent WiFi. And, the pub is literally steps from the wall surrounding the old city of York.
The staff were fantastic. We had a long drive to get to York and were running late due to traffic and weather. They stayed open until we arrived. Couldn't have been nicer!

Absolutely loved our stay at the Burton Stone! Inn was very walkable from both the York station and the town centre (10 minutes respectively in each direction). While the check in process was a little confusing Michael, the inn keeper, was super helpful and even gave us some recommendations on food and things to do in the area! Not only would we stay at the Burton Stone again should we return to York, we would also recommend this accommodation to any who are also visiting!
