Take a stroll through Shibu Onsen
We went off season. It was very quiet. Most shops and restaurants were closed except for dinner time. I would recommend going during the winter or july/August. A beautiful setting and valley. Onsems were amazing.
It’s probably because it’s May, but the town is really quiet and peaceful. Not exactly bustling with tourists, but perhaps it gets busier in winter, with Snow Monkeys in the hot springs and ski season is in full swing. Loved the atmosphere.
Really typical japanese in village...really quiet and looks like if we was in myyazaki movie! The only not soo dramatic things, was bring your food, he don't have a lot of place to buy foods!!!
Can arrange for pick-up from local bus station, as well as drop-off at the bus station or snow monkey park. Facilities very traditional, which added to the overall cultural experience.
The surrounding restaurants were pricey but most accepted credit card. Onsen is a must experience and visit the Monkey Park! Check out the bus time to get there and also the bus time that will take you back to your station, otherwise you a long wait!
