« Very immaculate property. Comfortable lobby with fireplace that actually warms you. Spacious room and bath with nice furnishings and fixtures. Two negatives. The blinds only closed partway on the windows and the bright night lights by the bike trail shine in at night. Also the soundproofing needs improvement. I could hear both adjacent and across the hall guests in my room. »

« The property is comically outdated and in poor shape. Containers literally everywhere catching rain water from holes in the ceiling. My room smelled like decades of cigarettes, it was awful. Room was never cleaned during my 3 days. They would empty the trash and replace towels. That's it. No cleaning of any surface, no remaking the bed, wiping counters. Nothing. Oh, there is no complimentary coffee in the lobby or anything. The restaurant that is attached does offer a breakfast buffet for $10,...

« Staff great. Room was a bit run down, the door on the mini fridge broken, shower stall & bathroom looking not well maintained. It was really annoying that the Dick's Sporting Goods across the street broadcasts music outdoors ALL night. Not great for street facing windows. »

« The room was okay. It could was not as clean as I’m used to for my Hilton stays. Especially, the bedding wreaked of cigarette smells and alcohol in the bedroom. Not to mention the bedroom television did not work. Despite the clerk giving two remotes and requesting to unplug and replug the hdmi. »

![This nifty metropark in downtown Dayton is a combination of farmer's market and local craft sale with food stands. It's only open Thursday - Saturday. Great place to pick up some local produce or dairy or honey, get some lunch while enjoying live music, and find a couple nifty local knick-knacks. The Deeds Carillon, the largest carillon in Ohio had been transformed into the shape of a holiday tree towering 200 feet in the air and glowing with 20,000 white lights.

The plan was for the Carillon Tree of Light to be turned on nightly through New Year’s Day and be accompanied by the bells playing a medley of holiday classics on the hour.

I went on Sunday night and stood in wonderment of the melodic bells and the strands of light enhancing the already majestic silhouette of the carillon. 

Overnight, wind gusts in excess of 40 or even 50 miles per hour damaged many of the strands of light. By morning, the damage was such that the display was beyond repair and will now be taken down for the year.

![Tumbleweed is one of the many funky bars in Dayton's historic Oregon District.  The decor is bizarre and you'll probably spot something new and entertaining every time you're there, no matter how many times that's been!  There's a small second story area which affords a great view of the stage (pictured), where they've got live music several days a week.  There's also an outdoor deck which is open in the summer and plastic-wrapped in winter so the smokers can still use it.
