Harmony - an Atlas Boutique Hotel

"Lovely, stylish hotel."
We thought this a lovely hotel, very stylish, clean and comfortable. Nice location - central but also quiet. The only slight quibble would be the shower which surprisingly was a hand-held type and not really in keeping with the rest of the design/quality. The staff were great - really helpful. And we loved the 'happy hour' where a range of snacks and drinks were provided for free each day between 5-7pm in the hotel lounge area.

The Jerusalem Little Hotel

40 Jaffa Road, Jerusalem - Map
"Beautiful building, good location, no frills hotel"
There's a typo in the name of this place. The word hotel is missing an S. The rooms are tiny and the beds are child size. You can't swing a loofah in the literal water closet. The shower turns the "bathroom" into a wet room. Hot water is optional, but it's the shower that decides. As is handsfree washing. If you're unlucky enough to stay in one of the back rooms, you're treated to a nice view of the courtyard, which looks like it's been used for fly tipping for the last 20 years. The breakfast is non-existent. There's bread, butter and a choice of spreads like date, halva and something hummus-y. And if you're there for Passover, bread is replaced with large Jacob's crackers, but you can buy bread from vendors all over the city should you want to avoid adding to the morning's dry mouth. Also, the building is a beautiful period, colonial townhouse - part of the allure for booking there, however there is no lift and no one around to help carry luggage. That said, its location can't be beaten. It's a five minute walk to Jaffa Gate of the old city and the tram passes right outside so great for getting to bus stations, etc. There's also loads of shops, bureau de changes, ATMs, bars, cafes and restaurants on the doorstep. These places are mainly closed on the Shabbat, but places are open in the old city and a restaurant called Barood opposite is also open. And the bars open at night.

"Kalplan Hotel...great place to stay in Jerusalem. "
Location is ideal as it is minutes on foot from the old city and the Jerusalem markets. Also on the light rail line two blocks from a station. Rooms are small but clean and well kept. Hotel manager was super helpful with useful advice and directions.

best spot in the middle of it all but very noisy from the outside because of it. Still worth it for hard sleepers or late sleepers :)

"Modern hotel close to the Jaffa Gate"
A nice hotel with friendly, helpful staff. I arrived at 4.30am and check-in had already been prepared so I just had to sign the guest form and then off to get some much needed sleep. The room was clean and modern and the reception provided me with an iron and extra coat hangers within 10 minutes of being asked. Check-out is 11am and they let me stay until 12 noon as I was getting collected at 1pm. Use the Nesher Taxi service to get to and from Tel Aviv airport. Reception will arrange your return journey but they need 24 hours notice. Overall, I'd recommend this hotel as a good base if you're staying in Jerusalem. When I was in the city I noticed many of the far more expensive chain hotels are located quite far outside the centre. If you enjoy that local, neighbourhood vibe then definitely stay here or close by. A collection point for many of the local tours [Jerusalem Tower Hotel] is about a 2 minute walk away, which was ideal as pick-up was sometimes as early as 5.50am.

"Cant wait until we go go back to the 7Kook Hotel"
Staying in a boutique hotel has a warm feeling because the staff knows you by name and really cares for their guests. The 7Kook Hotel is right off Yaffa Street and Ben Yehuda and the Train is on Yaffa so you cant get more central than that. The room was well decorated and we even had a patio outside with couches. The bed was firm and we fit 3 People in the room with the chair opening up into a bed.. I highly suggest this hotel.
