Liked: Cleanliness, amenities
Friendly little outback pub. Tiny rooms with comfy beds. Toilets and showers down the hall. Great meals at an affordable price.
A small country pub close by the Blue Tiers in NE Tasmania - open fire, generous meals, quiet, clean and so friendly…just what you want after a day of adventuring 🙏
Fine historic Hotel from a bygone era! Christie is an awesome hostess and though I did not actually eat a meal there, the meals looked and smelled wonderful( I had already eaten before arrival)! Quiet peaceful sleep, wonderful wood stove heat for the dining room/bar area. Nice surprise, breakfast included!
Wonderful friendly host, great food and excellent bar and wine.
The charming historic hotel have good beds, clean sheets and several shared bathrooms.
We had a memorable stay and made several new friends in the convivial setting.
A lovely, authentic, historic country pub. Most welcoming owners, delicious food.
Very dog friendly - our pooch was not only welcomed with open arms, but treated like royalty!
The staff were extremely friendly, courteous and helpful. It is a very old hotel with shared bathroom/toilets, but this only adds to the charm. The beds were comfortable and the meals surprisingly good. Easy to recommend for travellers in Tassie.
This is a magic place. Basic but all you need. Great food and vibe at the old pub. I hadn’t expected it to be crowded with campers but I probably should have considering it was Easter. Otherwise it would have been an even more beautiful tranquil place to stay.
Staff were very friendly. The room was small but comfortable. In a good location. Great food

If you are looking for a real Tasmanian experience then stay at Weldborough Hotel. The atmosphere of the place is quite unique, the food is great. The accommodation is rustic, the lounge room has a big fire place. The hotel is rich in history and the area of Weldborough has a strong connection with tin mining and Chinese culture. Around the property there is camping, you can leave a donation. Plenty of activities to do like hiking, exploring, wildlife spotting, mountain biking, fossiking, just to mention a few.

Disliked: Amenities
Staff were lovely and the basic room and sheets clean and tidy. We arrived on a hot day and the temperature in the room was unbearable given there was no in-room cooling - almost too hot to breath without opening a window. One window only opened part way and didnt admit much air. Other window didn't open. So, we had to leave the door open to try and draw cool air from the hallway into our room. As a result, other patrons could see into our room - but we had no choice to cool down. The wall heater in the room didn't work (I tested it, although we didnt need it). Also many blowflies in our room and I had to request fly spray to kill them. Flies continued to enter the room from outside because of the open window, which we couldn't close for the heat. Each of the two shared bathrooms and adjoining toilets were accessed through one door - meaning that you couldn't go to the toilet when both were in use. Waits were lengthy when others were showering. The bathrooms (showers and toilets) were very old, antiquated and the floors ended up flooded with water, literally covered. Our 3 year old daughter slipped on the floor and hurt herself. Shower water flow was poor and difficult to adjust. Poor network connectivity for Oputs users so we had to rely on wifi - which did the job. Also noticed one room had a wire hanging out of ceiling where the smoke alarm was supposed to be. Would never go back again and certainly wouldnt recommend the accommodation to others.
This place is basic but beautiful in an amazing location. It offers great value for money, beautiful clean bedding, comfortable beds, great big fluffy towels and excellent hot water. Lots of heating in the bedroom and bathroom area, plus a cosy open fire in the lounge. Staff were really friendly and gave great local travel advice. I felt safe and looked after, even staying on my own. I was very appreciative of their kindness and hospitality.
Friendly personal service.
Basic rooms (bed and not much else) but excellent bedding and clean shared old fashioned bathrooms with showers.
Shared hallway so you can hear people in the hallway that gives a shared dorm feel.
Finding St Helens virtually booked out, we decided to take a chance on the Weldborough Hotel. We booked the cabin out the back of the hotel. On arrival we received a very warm welcome, were led to our cabin and shown where to park. This accommodation is rustic so don’t expect 4 star. We loved it. The cabin was a good size with a separate bedroom, well appointed kitchenette, table and chairs and small bathroom. The bed was not the best for us. My partner is a bit heavier than I am and the bed seemed to slope on his side but in saying that we slept okay. The makings for a continental breakfast of cereal and toast were provided. The setting is beautiful and if you are a camper, whether in a van or tent, the fee is by donation. There were quite a few on site. We decided to have a meal in the pub dining room. I had the bangers and mash and my husband had the fish and chips. Prices were reasonable and the meals substantial. There is one negative and that is the WiFi and phone service. We had absolutely no service and I assume it is the same for everyone. You are in the bush so this is probably to be expected. We were only staying one night so not an issue but it is something to be aware of. All in all, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend it.
