The place was big but very dry and not perfectly clean. The area is beautiful but there was no gym or pool area. The bed and pillows were excellent. It was a nice place to stay

Our housekeeping manager who does the check of rooms before allowing any guests into them, so she's wondering what was dirty and not perfectly clean. As there was a do not disturb on the door throughout the stay , housekeeping wouldn't come in to do any further cleaning. It's unfortunate that the recreation centre, with the outdoor pool and full fitness area won't allow our guests the use of the facilities without a major charge. We have approached the owners many times and they're just not interested in joining use, we're sorry this affected the stay. We look forward to welcoming you all back in the future! We stayed here for two separate nights on each end of our trip to Salt Spring Island, one in the classic and one in the panoramic. It is a beautiful and quiet area. The rooms that back the golf course are so nice, and have lovely balconies as well. Both times we backed the golf course. The beds are cozy with ample pillows, as well as a very spacious room. The location is not convenient if you are flying, but we had lots of time and a car rental so it was worth it. It is quite a steep drive up the mountain so I would not stay here in the winter or when there is slippery conditions unless you had a good vehicle. There is not much for amenities around the hotel (a sports bar and a fancier restaurant within a 5 minute walk) but most things are down the mountain, about 7-10 minute drive. The nice deep soaking tub makes up for lack of a pool/hot tub. Breakfast was simple muffins and fruit but was perfect for us.

The hotel stay was great. The only down side was that they only had 1 non-Tesla EV charging station that was taken up by another car ALL night. When asked if the hotel had a policy/limit on charging a car, I was advised no and that they can’t unplug someone’s car. No offer for a solution such as, to call the other customer in the hotel room to ask to unplug. I left the hotel the next day, seeing it still plugged in by the same car from the previous night. As a traveller from far away on business, this was such an inconvenience.

Property was located on Bear Mountain with lovely views. The one bedroom suite was well appointed and very large with a balcony and full kitchen and separate bedroom with comfortable king sized bed.

A quiet park like surroundings, a comfy bed, great pillows gave us the best night sleep in ages! Peaceful! Our room was huge! Checkin was a breeze. Underground secure parking $10. We will stay here again.

Dear David- thank you for your review and rating on your most recent stay with us at Fairways Hotel on the Mountain. Not sure what you were expecting, as we don't advertise much more than the rooms. Within the hotel we provide housekeeping throughout the stay, but we don't go into rooms with do not disturb on them, we expect the guest to ask for items in this case. There are other amenities on the mountain, such as golf, tennis, the activity centre with it's outdoor heated pool and many hiking/biking trails. There are two restaurants which open for breakfast / lunch and diner walking distance from our front doors. If you drove we have ice skating, bowling ally, boulder wall climbing and a few tourist attractions nearby. We don't advertise these as we don't have any connection with them, though if asked we do point them our to our guests. I suggest checking the hotels own website, checking it has everything you require before booking and we hope on the next trip you find a more suitable hotel – Peter.

We stayed for a week in the apartment with golf cause views. It was large,clean,quiet and comfortable bed. The only thing negative was the kitchen needed a few more things and the coffee machine was a little outdated, not alot to complain about really. Would definitely stay here again.
