My room was simple and minimalistic, and while not particularly spacious, the air conditioning made a big difference during the warmer days of my stay. What really stood out was the staff: warm, attentive, and consistently helpful. Daily interactions with them were a pleasure. Within walking distance of St. Mark's Square, situated on a small canal, the Locanda Silva was clean and comfortable. Friendly front desk person; check-in was quick. Note that the front desk is up one flight of stairs, and then two flights of stairs to our room, which was spacious and clean. Comfortable bed. The bathroom and shower is on the small side, but manageable. There was an armoire, desk, and wall TV. Reading lamp on the nightstands (thank you!). The front desk is manned until 11pm. Breakfast comes with the room; served at 8am in a community dining room. Hot breakfast items, pastries, fruit, coffee; all delicious! We took the train to Venice and once we arrived, we needed to purchase tickets outside by the canal for the water bus. The hotel is on a canal which is lovely but it's not where the boat drops you off. You will need to walk about 10 minutes to the hotel. There is no elevator but the hotel has a lot of charm. The staff was very helpful. The rooms and bathrooms are a bit small but roomier than what we had in Paris. The room was clean when we got there and was cleaned every day we were there. There is water and tea available throughout the day. The breakfast was great! The staff also helped us figure out the Alilaguna boat location and which boat to take to get to the airport (It will take about 1 hour 20 minutes from the dock to the airport.)
