"The host is unbelievably kind and gracious. The property is stunningly beautiful and remote. Honestly, I’m simply struggling for words to describe how wonderful our experience was. We just returned home and I want to get in my car & drive right back!! I can not recommend the host or the property enough. 10 stars out of 5 possible. Exceeded every expectation possible. Will DEFINITELY be returning as long and as often as he continues to rent and I’m physically capable of making the trip from Chicago to the Dryden area. Im a little self-conscious about being too effusive here but I simply had easily one of the, if not THE, most memorable experiences of my life. Perfect for couples because it’s a slightly smaller cabin but we had 3 adults and it worked perfectly. The cabin is amazingly charming and has all the conveniences of modern life right down to WI-FI & TV. Step outside, and you’re in paradise & you may contact the host nearby that will cater to any request you may possibly have. There are also excursions to nearby lakes he offers for additional money for the more adventurous and/or curious. AMAZING experience and AMAZING host."

"Beautiful cabin with a gorgeous and spacious deck overlooking the bay. There are ample beds for a large number of guests and the living room and kitchen are well equipped with excellent WIFI and cable TV. The owner is a fantastic Musky Guide and will put you on fish as well as provide advice for locations and bait presentations. Close to Vermillion Bay which has a small grocery, hardware, Gas and liquor store. Highly recommended!"

"L&S Lodge was a great place to stay on Eagle Lake. The bedrooms and beds were very comfortable. The kitchen appliances and pots and pans where good. The bottle water dispenser was great. Never know what then water quality will be when going some place new. We emptied then bottle in a few days, a text to Joanne and she replaced it that morning while we were fishing. The regular tap water was also good. The dock for boats was very nice, the boat bumbers on dock protected the boats. The fish cleaning station right up by then cottage was great and lighted for night time cleaning. The disposal of fish was very good, just put them on rocks and the eagles and seagulls cleaned them up in less than a hour. One morning we had 5 eagles right in front of cottage carrying them away. Would rent this place again."

"Being relatively new to musky fishing, I prepared for this trip by listening to podcasts. The best advice I picked up was to find a notable guide for the lake you are going to fish. We found one with Eric from the Hidden Gem and he was spot on both with spots and techniques to use. Over 3 days of fishing hard we rose 16 musky and caught 3, all of which were our PB’s. The accommodations at Hidden Gem were amazing and the hospitality from Angie and Eric was even better! Thanks for the great memories, we will be back. Kevin and Kim"

"We had a large group of friends (adults, plus kids) stay at the King's camp this past weekend for a 3 night stay. We cannot say enough good things about this place - it is such a treasure. The location is fantastic (just a short drive up the road to Blue Lake), with many hiking options close by if you want to get off side. The views and sunsets were stunning, the cabins and all amenities are in excellent condition. The property has everything you need for a great weekend with friends. The King's were accommodating, responsive, fair, and gracious hosts. We really hope to be back next year for a longer stay. Thanks again to the Kings for sharing their little piece of paradise with us!!"

"The physical location of the cottage is terrific! The dock/beach area are excellent too. The cottage is dated and the owner needs a refund from the cleaners. Oven and BBQ haven't been cleaned in years.. There is no indoor access to downstairs from the upper level, entry to the lower level is via outdoors - NOT ideal for a young family. Downstairs bathroom, the under-sink cabinet needs dead mouse removed. Bathroom in the "casita" is not in working order. Bedding is adequate.. but tired too. The web-site shows 4 bunkbeds downstairs - it is actually 2 bunkbeds that sleep 4 people; the "casita" shows 4 queen beds - it is actually 2 queen beds that sleep 4 people. Our family had a good weekend at this location but I'm not sure how long ago the owner actually checked out his property; it needs some TLC."
