Los Cabos Attractions

Los Cabos is the collective name for both Cabo San Lucas and the Old Town of San Jose del Cabo. Once an obscure fishing village, Cabo is now a thriving city that sprawls across the map with stunning coastal views, a vibrant nightlife and a wealth of Old World charm.

If you love water sports, there's no end of things to do in Los Cabos. For avid scuba divers and snorkelers, there is an unusual natural phenomenon known as sand waterfalls, where underwater currents propel tons of sand over submerged rock formations in a stunning and never-ending waterfall pattern. There are also colorful and exotic tropical fish species to enjoy in the underground seascape. For those who would like to view this underwater world without getting wet, there are Los Cabos tours of the bay in glass-bottomed boats.

The area is also known for its prime deep-sea fishing. Hiring a boat and guide for a day on the high seas promises adventure and perhaps the catch of a lifetime, as the warm ocean currents attract large game fish such as marlin, tuna and sailfish. Other Los Cabos activities include mountain biking and ATV tours in the surrounding hills.

One of the top attractions in Los Cabos is the Church of San Lucas, a 300-year old Spanish mission-style church boasting period features. Many other buildings in Cabo date to the city's founding and reflect its Colonial past.

There are plenty of local spots to let your hair down and enjoy some of "la vida loca," with bars and nightclubs popular with tourist and local alike dotting the main streets in Los Cabos.
