Choose two or more items and save on your trip:
Shop for designer clothes, sample international cuisine at waterside restaurants and watch a television show broadcast, all at this multipurpose retail center.

At The Mailbox you can shop at luxury retail stores, dine on the terrace of a canal-side restaurant, view art exhibitions and go behind the scenes at a television studio. The building was previously a Royal Mail sorting office before opening to the public as a multipurpose complex in 1998.

Fashion lovers will enjoy shopping at a range of men’s and women’s stores. Among these are luxury labels such as Emporio Armani and Hugo Boss. There are also home and lifestyle shops. Check The Mailbox’s official website for sales, discounts and other offers.

Visit the public studio of BBC Birmingham and watch a live broadcast of TV and radio shows. Take a tour of the sets and pretend to be a news presenter in the interactive area. Tours last about 90 minutes and have a fee. Younger visitors will enjoy the children’s miming and drawing activities. Find further details at the Tours section of the official BBC website.

Go to the Castle Galleries to find rotating exhibitions, such as photography by American photojournalist Eve Arnold, whose work appeared in publications such as Life magazine. Arnold photographed public figures, including Marilyn Monroe. Art connoisseurs can find limited edition and original pieces to buy.

The complex has a range of places to eat and drink. Sit at a restaurant overlooking the canal and sample dishes from Africa, Asia and the Mediterranean. Adjacent to The Mailbox is The Cube, a high-end commercial and residential complex in a striking, architectural building. Check out the panoramic city views from Marco’s, the 25th-floor restaurant named after Michelin-starred chef Marco Pierre White.

The Mailbox sits on the southwest edge of Birmingham’s city center. Major attractions, including Birmingham Cathedral and Symphony Hall, are a short walk away. The nearest train station is Birmingham New Street. Public buses stop close to the main entrance. Pay-and-display parking is available on site.

The center is open every day of the year. Visit The Mailbox’s official website for individual store and restaurant hours.
