"This place is cooler than cool. It's extremely well maintained. Historical through and through. The rooms are larger than a typical hotel, with extremely high ceilings. A common area with snacks and refreshments just for the very limited # of rooms/guests. The restaurant and bar downstairs is great. And... despite being above the bar and restaurant (which close at a reasonable hour btw), I did not have ANY issues with noise. Lastly, the staff was 10:10 with checking in / assistance / checking out."

The Historic Buckley House

"Buckley House is absolutely perfect for a family gathering. Four en suite bedrooms, large kitchen with a coffee bar (Kuerig, coffee press, Mr Coffee, .) Stove, microwave, dishwasher,. Kitchen island. Two living room areas for time alone for reading or phone calls. Powder room on first floor and a dining room. We enjoyed the front porch for our first cup of coffee and discussing plans for the day. The back porch has several tables that we used for eating and visiting. The house is perfectly located for a walk into town…great stores. Restaurants and Pubs. The house is across the street from a beautiful little park..take a walk, ride a bike..even has a circuit of strength machines. We will definitely return to this location for a future family gathering."

"The room and property was nice and clean. Loved the antiques or antique looking furniture! I think they should have towel racks in the bathroom or hooks on the door, but other than that, the room was great! The location was also nice being on the water and near to other businesses. My only real complaint was with the staff. When we first tried to check in an hour early, I was first made to wait. When someone finally helped me I was met with a "check in isn't until 3" with an attitude of I should know better than to ask. She did look up our room and said it wasn't ready. There was zero smile, zero apology, etc. When we did check in, and there was a line, this same woman stood there and did not help the other woman get us checked in and she made zero eye contact with any of the guests waiting in line. The woman who DID check us in did not smile either, but she did offer info and was sort of friendly. If you want hospitality, this wasn't the place."

"We enjoyed our stay here. The house is a very old Victorian home with many of the original floor boards, fireplaces, and woodwork. We loved this. The furniture was comfortable as well. The house was clean and the bedroom we slept in was spacious. The bed was very comfortable. The modernized kitchen had everything we needed with plenty of seating in the dining room. The bathrooms have been modernized and were very clean. The full bathroom upstairs was very large and had the washer and dryer in it. Plenty of hot water but could use an additional towel rack or 2. During our stay, the weather outside was hot and humid but the house was very comfortable even a little cooler than we are used to. The house is very pet friendly and has a fenced in backyard. Our dog fell asleep everywhere in the house. The backyard consisted of mostly weeds and some bare spots. There was a small firepit in the middle of the yard and a table with 6 chairs. The handrail down the steps from the deck to the backyard was in serious need of replacement. The host was very quick to respond when I brought this to his attention. Every communication I had with the host was positive and very quick. The only drawback for me was the listing said parking is available. Parking is in front of the house on the street that is busy 24/7. I was not a fan of this but it wasn't a deal breaker for us. Plenty to see and good food within walking distance."
