"The room very clean and maintained daily. Staff were excellent, directions for York, getting me a safety pin for a dress. Nothing too much trouble and kind and patient. Lovely breakfast for days in York."

"Stunning communal spaces, stairs and bar. That staff are very courteous and helpful. You can even rent an umbrella. There is parking and it’s at the reduced rate of £22 if you pay at reception (£40 outside) Our room was a superior king but faced the station. BE AWARE that rear facing rooms get to hear the trains idle at the station for 15-30 mins at a time despite double glazing. A tip would be to master the air con before bedtime as it’s tricky to use (until you know how) and the rooms get quite warm without it."
