"The Hen House cottage was a great place to stay for our trip in the Durham area. The village of Brandon is a beautiful location for going for walks in the countryside and with a great pub/ restaurant called the Bay Horse Inn on 50m away it’s a perfect place to stay. The village is very close to the historic house, chapels and gardens of Ushaw and Brancepeth Castle, which are both excellent places to visit!! Great size accommodation and with modern kitchen and bathroom making staying here great. Two bedrooms, each with en-suite suits a family group. Living room and kitchen are a good size with most of what you need (though note there is only a fridge - no freezer and no washing machine). "Absolutely brilliant cottage. All new fixtures and fittings with everything you could need for your stay. The drains smell came and went- not sure where it came from and it didn’t really bother us. Location fantastic for walks along the coast and short drive to other coastal towns. Would recommend"
