I told the owner we had someone disabled and a baby before we arrived (as well as a child). When we arrived the location was lovely and the cottage looked very cosy in pictures and from outside. However inside was a different story! Considering we went whilst extra precautions are meant to be in place with COVID the place was filthy. There was dust, cobwebs, utensils was unclean, the bath had hairs in and the list could go on and on! In the cottage you are provided with towels, dishes etc and one tea towel absolutely smelt disgusting! We told the owner when she just walked in (no knock on the door or anything) and she said “sorry I was rushing around and it’s probably the one I cleaned with”. Now in usual circumstances this is VERY unhygienic but in a time when there is a worldwide pandemic I think is totally unacceptable! I’ve been a housekeeper myself and there is a basic level of cleanliness (even if that is not your job) to adhere to which isn’t that hard! Normally I would never write such a review because it is this ladies personal accommodation and I really wouldn’t want to tarnish a business in anyway. But after trying to contact her with evidence of how unclean the place was (and that is putting it extremely politely) we have had no reply. Which I think is utterly rude. It could have been kept a private issue and not put as an awful review. But when you are left with no other option due to the owners ignorance I think this poor review is very well deserved.
