This property backs onto the Thames River. Rooms facing the river are quiet. We enjoyed our stay. There are walking paths along both sides of the Thames. Sainsbury & other services close by, plus numerous restaurant choices. Hotel has a bar & restaurant, but we didn’t eat or drink there. Looked fine. Rooms were clean. No lift at this property. Staff very kindly assisted in bringing our heavier bags upstairs to our rooms. We managed to get them downstairs on our own. Property is close to Heathrow Terminal 5, so easy access there. Can recommend this property especially for one or two nights in transit. Staines is a pretty part of outer London with swans swimming on the Thames.
Had to unexpectedly stay another day in the U.K. and stayed in this quaint hotel last minute. The staff was extremely helpful as I needed to print out documents and the front desk was so empathetic to my situation and the hotel was quite affordable and close by the train station.
It was late at night when I arrived, and I was led to believe from the information I received, that there would be no one around, and I would have to use a passcode to get into the building. However, doors opened automatically to get into the building, and there was a clerk at the desk when I arrived, and he was most helpful. The bed was very comfortable. The room was very quiet. It was obvious the sink and faucets are quite old and I had to turn the cold water handle quite a bit to get the water running. At first, I thought it wasn’t going to work. The outside of the garbage can in the bathroom didn’t look like it had been washed in a while. The hand soap dispenser was basically empty. And I don’t understand why British/European hotels do not provide face cloths? Do they expect us just to wash our face with our hands? So I used the small towel. The good parts were a very comfortable bed and a quiet room. The pre-ordered breakfast I decided on the English breakfast and it was plenty of food and tasty. The clerk at the desk was pleasant on my checkout. It’s obvious this building has seen better days. Also, arriving late at night in the dark, coming into the car park arriving by taxi, it was difficult to find the main entrance. I was fortunate I had a very helpful taxi driver who carried my suitcase and walked ahead of me while we were searching for the main entrance. I suggest better signage that lights up in the dark indicating the main entrance would be helpful.
It’s a very old hotel shower could use some new taps ++ not all the outlets are the same strange! And we asked about the restaurant whether it would be open for dinner and breakfast and the only answer we could get was Maybe ? And it was never opened whilst we was there ….
We just returned from a two week stay at this hotel and it was NOT what we expected. The hotel staff was not helpful or accommodating at all! We were there for two weeks and the cook was out three days during our time there and we were only offered cold cereal and toast for breakfast; that's after paying full price for the full breakfast program they offer! I would NOT recommend this hotel to anyone staying more than one night!! Our room was not cleaned when we asked them to clean it, and we ran out of toilet paper several times during our stay and the front desk told us they didn't have the key to the supply closet. The hotel also does not have A/C, so we were only offered fans for our room which only circulated the hot air! Overall, our experience at this hotel was not good, but fortunately, we did not let that spoil our trip. We had a great time in London and the surrounding area!!
I chose this hotel because it was listed as safe for a solo female traveler. It is not.
The hotel is in an area without a store nearby to buy bottled water. It sits on a main thoroughfare used for commuting. Support staff was almost nonexistent. The tub plumbing was fine, but the toilet was awful. It requires 30-60 minutes to refill before flushing. They said, " Oh, that is normal for London. The prior hotel was nothing like that. Nor did I ever use a public bathroom like that. The room itself was nice inside.
A breathtaking bar and restaurant with tables set up along the riverfront of the Thames. Room was comfortable. Conveniently located near shopping and Terminal 5 Heathrow. Only concern was there was no AC outlet near the bed, which would've been convenient for phone charging.
Considering the age and history of the hotel, I was happily surprised how well it was kept up! It is not luxury but quaint. Three of us were very comfortable!

Room was a great size (twin room) and the staff were friendly. However, when I asked for a hair dryer, the staff member said it would take 10-15 mins to find one elsewhere in the hotel. He didn’t come back to me.
The bar is nice and has a lovely patio with views of swans swimming in the Thames.
My other gripe was that likely due to the age of the building, any time somebody walked past our room we could hear creaking floorboards.
I recommend the hotel for its proximity to the airport. There is a food court with choices of Asian cuisine just a 5-min walk away as well as shopping and restaurants.
One thing to note is that since it is so close to the airport, taxi drivers are reluctant to take on the fare. Their rule is to charge GBP 50 for the relatively short ride. I recommend taking an Uber instead for approx GBP 30.
Older property but nice updates like bedside chargers and updated shower controls.

The check in process was quick. The room was nice overlooking the Thames. However the room smelled a bit musty and the bathroom had black mold on the ceiling. The bed was very comfortable though. Overall I would say the property needs to be renovated. We parked on-site for £10 overnight which is good compared to other hotels nearer the airport. The parking spaces are quite small and, unfortunately, our car was scratched. So the rental car company charged me £1750 for which I will submit an insurance claim form. It was an OK stay but will probably look for an alternative next time.

The property uses photos to attract customers, but when you get there, the room offered is completely different. I booked classic double room with river view. But.. i have attached the photo.
The bedsheet had dirt on them, room had coweb and spider top of the bed.
The property sits on a nice view of the Thames River by its side. You can walk and enjoy the view.
Here are somethings I noted:
1. I did not receive the access codes until 3.45pm. All 3 customer service personnel I spoke to did their thing on the computer and they all promised codes will come in 15mins. That did not happen.
2. Expedia had check-in time for 3pm... but the hotel said 4pm. A bit of a discrepancy there.
3. The bathroom had an empty bodywash bottle. That was a bummer.
4. The hotel should try to find an efficient way to cool the rooms in the summer. It was very warm all the times I was in that room.
