This is a one of a kind outstanding boutique hotel. The building and grounds are impeccable and first class. Service was friendly and discreet. You are surrounded by trees and a river runs around over half the property. The library with wood burning fire place is ideal for a before or after dinner drink. If you ever find yourself within 200km of this place, detour and spend a few days relaxing at this sanctuary.

It advertises as a rural property and it is away from shopping and dining. But close enough that you can go after eating and shopping. Wonderful hosts that make you welcome. A great place to relax and visit with other guests.

One of the nicest, most charming hotels at which we stayed during our recent Camino.
Beautiful hotel in a charming pastoral setting.
Staff was friendly and accommodating.
Only quibble, and a small one: There is a hefty charge for using both the sauna and hot tub. Have never encountered that before.

Very nice place, the front desk girl was very friendly and helpful. Hotel was clean and the atmosphere was good. We loved our room and the charm. Not too many restaurants to chose from around the hotel, but a short walk into padron.

I really liked this place! My room was spacious and bright, there was a little fridge, a comfy bed, a suitcase rack (that's rare on the Camino), and plenty of towels and hangers. The hotel has a garden, laundry machines, and an area with tables and a microwave where you can have your takeaway.

The best area to stay in Souto is the town centre, particularly around the Praza da Vila, for its convenience and access to local amenities.
This central area is the heart of Souto, offering a pleasant and compact environment. You'll find a good selection of quality restaurants, cafes, and local shops within easy walking distance. The Praza da Vila itself is a lovely public square, often a focal point for local life and a great spot to relax. From here, you can easily reach the historic Church of San Salvador, a prominent local landmark.
Couples looking for a relaxing and authentic Galician experience will find the town centre ideal. It offers a romantic setting with its traditional architecture and the opportunity to enjoy leisurely meals and strolls. Access to local markets and artisan shops also adds to the appeal for those who appreciate local culture and produce.
For travellers who enjoy walking and exploring on foot, the area immediately surrounding the town centre is also a great option. Many guesthouses and smaller hotels are situated on the quieter streets just off the main square.
When is the best time to go to Souto?
The best time to visit Souto, Galicia, is during the summer months, from June to September, when the weather is generally warm and sunny, making it ideal for exploring the region's natural beauty.
During July and August, you'll find the warmest temperatures, often reaching the mid-20s Celsius. This period is great for enjoying Souto's outdoor activities, such as hiking in the nearby Eume Natural Park or visiting the stunning Fragas do Eume forest, one of Europe's best-preserved Atlantic forests. The longer daylight hours also mean more time for sightseeing and enjoying the local cuisine al fresco.
For those who prefer slightly milder weather and fewer crowds, late June or early September are excellent choices. The temperatures are still pleasant, typically in the low 20s, and you can experience the beauty of the area with a more relaxed pace.
