When is the best time to go to South Sound?

The best time to visit South Sound, George Town, is during the dry season, which runs from December to April. During these months, you'll experience pleasant temperatures, typically ranging from 24°C to 29°C, with lower humidity and less chance of rain. This makes it ideal for enjoying the beautiful beaches and outdoor activities without interruption. The sea is usually calm and clear, great for snorkelling, diving, and swimming. For couples looking for a romantic getaway, visiting in late January or February can be particularly appealing. The weather is consistently excellent, and while it's a popular time, you can still find quieter spots along the less crowded South Sound beaches. Many hotels offer special packages during this period, and you can enjoy sunset strolls and al fresco dining comfortably. Families travelling with children will also find the dry season convenient. The stable weather means you're more likely to have uninterrupted days for beach activities, exploring the marine parks, or enjoying watersports.

Can I cancel my hotel reservation on Expedia?

Many Expedia hotel reservations are refundable, provided that you cancel before the hotel’s cancellation deadline – this is often within 24-48 hours of your scheduled arrival. If you have a non-refundable booking, it might still be possible to receive a refund if you cancel it within 24 hours of booking. Be sure to check your booking confirmation for the exact cancellation policy. For maximum flexibility, use our "Fully refundable property" filter during your search to find the right South Sound hotel for you.

The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman

10/10 Excellent

"⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5 Stars – An Absolutely Amazing Experience! Our experience at The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman was absolutely incredible! Everything about this resort is exceptional. The property is breathtakingly beautiful, the facilities are luxurious and immaculate, and the beaches are simply stunning. The cleanliness throughout the entire resort is outstanding, and every detail is perfectly maintained. But what truly makes this place unforgettable is the exceptional service. The staff goes above and beyond to make every guest feel special, welcomed, and cared for. The level of hospitality is truly remarkable and makes all the difference. Five stars are absolutely deserved! One of the best luxury resort experiences we’ve ever had. We highly recommend it and can’t wait to return!"

Cobalt Coast Resort

10/10 Excellent

"We really enjoyed our stay! Our oceanfront room had a lovely shared porch overlooking the water. Friends of ours were staying next door, so it was especially nice to sit out together and enjoy the ocean view. Having a restaurant right on the property was so convenient, and we loved walking down to the beach to relax on the daybeds under umbrellas. The dock was another highlight—we could walk right out and go snorkeling. The on-site scuba dive shop made our diving trips easy, too. We simply walked over, and they took us out from there. We didn’t need to rent a car, although we used taxis a few times to explore. It was a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the water, with everything we needed close at hand."

The Westin Grand Cayman Seven Mile Beach Resort & Spa

10/10 Excellent

"The Westin may have the best beach on the island. Service is great, everyone is friendly and very attentive. Most relaxing experience. The dining is also above the rest. Must try the Beach House and Wotto. Just an elevated attention to service and food is incredibly delicious!"
