"I’ve never felt comfortable returning to the Cathlamet/Skamakawa area, as I had a rather horrible experience there in my youth. My dislike for the place never had anything to do with the natural beauty of the area however. I was fortunate that I chose to stay at the Loft, as it encompassed everything that I remembered about the area that was actually beautiful. The house was lovely, the beach, the river, everything was perfect. If I am to return, I would be happy to stay at the Loft again! Thank you!"

"Although this is an older property, the room was large and clean with views of the marina. Ample parking in quiet area. Shower had good water pressure with dispensers of shower gel shampoo conditioner body lotion. Tasty breakfast buffet included egg and sausage patties biscuit and gravy toast bagel yogurt cereal fruit. Huge pot of oatmeal with fixins was a plus. Definitely would stay here again."

"The Front staff /mangers were great , they work so hard doing everything! They stored our bikes, they cleaned rooms, they used their own phone to help us get our bikes locked up when they were away from the desk. The rooms are way too hot. I think they may need AC as the climate warms up, sooner than later! They building is old and you can hear everything above you. No insulation in the walls and floors it seems - so hard to sleep. The food situation next door use to be great! It was way too expensive for hardly any food. Why not serve toast when you pay for eggs for breakfast. I had "fruit and yogurt w/granola". I got 3 tiny slices of an apple and jam. Jam is not fruit. It is summer, this is when fruit is in season! Please be more generous."
