"The big views from our room were amazing! We loved watching the surf break on the cliffs and falling asleep listening to it! Bed was very comfortable, lovely patio, tea, coffee, even cookies and crackers! The staff are all delightful and the breakfast was really relaxing and delicious. Freshly baked cake every morning!"

"The hosts were absolutely incredible from the moment we booked till the moment we left - they went above and beyond! Nothing was too much trouble and they made us feel so at home and comfortable. The house was fantastic and so easy to get everywhere by bus or walking. Beach and playgrounds! The kids loved playing in the pool and the sandpit and the little houses. We had such a lovely stay - thanks so much both! Would definitely recommend!"

"We couldn't have been happier with our stay. Ralph made us feel very welcome and was extremely helpful with recommendations on where to go and eat etc. The house was very comfortable and had everything we needed, and was in a great location, minutes from the beach and local amenities, including supermarkets, bars and restaurants. Praia das Maçãs is a very chilled and relaxing place to stay and we met some lovely people. We stayed 12 nights and loved it. Thank you Ralph, we hope to be back! :-)"

"This is a truly beautiful property and would be perfect for a destination wedding or other gathering. The guest house is magnificently appointed. The grounds are beautiful. There’s a swimming, pool and tennis courts. The host of the guest house personally greeted us. We had breakfast made to order on the patio. "This place is a dump. Do not stay here, and don’t trust the reviews that say otherwise! This place might have been great in the 90s, but that’s the last time anything was maintained and/or cleaned thoroughly. Our first room was dark and filthy, and located on the maintenance side of the property. So we went to the front desk to ask to get moved since most rooms were sitting empty. The second room was just as bad. Shower doors were falling off and the shower head was broken. The wooden closet...

"The manager was helpful, and the room was beautiful. However, there was no heat and the temperature dropped into the 40’s in the night and didn’t get above 58 in the day. The mattress was hard as a rock. Also, hotels.com represented this hotel as being 3.5 miles from either the Sintra train station or the national palace (I forget which one I settled on), but in reality it was 10 miles away from anything. "
