Silver Lake Vacation Rental, Spacious & in a great location

"The cottage was a perfect size for our family. Everything was clean and working. We liked they had plenty of coffee available for us. The bedroom blinds kept the light out which is a small luxury we love for us and our kids to sleep longer. Board games and card games provided which we played on a rainy afternoon. They have a hose by the side door to spray off sand before entering the house. The neighborhood was very quaint and we liked going on walks. We walked to the dune rides and ice cream shop. Across the street from the house is a small neighborhood playground and small path for kids to ride their bike on a dirt. We used the kayaks and paddles. They had plenty of life vests for use. Our kids went swimming off one of the neighborhood lake access points. The owner stopped by on their way home since we were outside and made sure we had everything we needed. The only negative is the shared wall and no privacy off the front porch or back yard. We knew we signed up for a duplex but it felt odd sharing a house while visiting. We used the fire pit one night which I hope didn’t keep the other guest from enjoying their backyard but could have. It would be nice to have a divider in the front and back."

"The house was clean, stocked with all basic essentials, and fairly modern. We enjoyed the backyard with fire pit and grill. The location was perfect! The owner was great in communicating with us and entry was easy and accessible. There was a musty smell upon entry and the owner sent a plumber over to check it out. That was appreciated. The dryer made a horrendous squealing noise and the owner said he was going to replace the belt. The view of the lake was minimal, we didn’t mind that though, as the lake access was just down the street. The beds/bedding were not very fresh and mattresses were stained. We never found the fire stick for the upstairs television so no TV watching up there. I think with just a few upgrades this would be an amazing place to stay and we would stay there again if these things were addressed. These were things we noticed and it sounds like the owner really cares and wants to make everything comfortable for guests. Stores, restaurants, and dunes only minutes away. We loved the Whippi-Dip!"

"There was some confusion with the cleaners thinking we were supposed to leave a day earlier but they were very nice about it and we got it figured out that they were at the wrong address. The place is nice and comfortable. We didn’t realize there was no dishwasher so you have to wash dishes by hand. No big deal but there should be a dish drainer available. There also was no bath mat. Just two suggestions to maybe add these. The deck and fire pit were great to sit outside and the location is perfect!!"

"I wrote a bad review about this place two years ago. I would like to retract it and say that this is a wonderful place to stay. The kitchen is well equipped and the brand new refrigerator is awesome. Since we were there two years ago, the outdoor deck furniture has been replaced and the new stuff is very comfortable. The owners are always available if there is a problem and encourage you to call with any issues. We had none.If you are looking for a comfortable place to stay, with easy pool access, I would recommend this as a good choice."

"Our stay was excellent, clean and spacious. Pool was awesome and so close to Lake Michigan.It was our first time to Lake Michigan and we all love it. Silver Lake area was great, felt safe and comfortable. Dune rides were great, we used Silver Back Dune Ride s and if you are looking for amazing chicken wings go to Chicken Shack, the best wings we ever had."

"We thoroughly enjoyed staying in this lovely cottage. It was so close to the pool, basketball court and tennis/pickleball court. It was also a walkable distance to the lake. The cottage was well furnished and well stocked. The fire pit area outside was perfect for evening family time! The hosts, Ker and Melissa, communicated well with us and were very kind! Our family is so grateful for this stress-free and enjoyable home away from home."
