"The hotel and room were very good. My only minor complaint is that all staff had disappeared at 9:00 during the 7-10 AM breakfast, and the American fried potatoes had run out, as did the waffle mix after I took the last of the batch, and several people came down after us to eat. There are several other restaurants very close by."

"Fantastic stay on the North Shore! My wife and I brought our two kids up for a getaway, and the AmericInn in Tofte was the absolute perfect home base for our family. The rooms were spotless, comfortable, and spacious enough for all of us to spread out and relax after a long day of exploring. Our youngest absolutely loved the indoor pool—a total lifesaver for burning off extra energy—and our oldest was thrilled that the Wi-Fi was fast and reliable. The complimentary breakfast had plenty of great, hot options to fuel everyone up before we headed out to check out Lake Superior and the nearby state parks. The staff was incredibly welcoming and went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. If you're looking for a clean, comfortable, and well-located spot on the North Shore, look no further. We’ll definitely be back!"

Lutsen Sea Villas

"Stunning views of Lake Superior literally steps from the condo. We enjoyed our time at Lutsen Sea Villas from the ease of booking, to the friendly check-in, location is ideal near both Grand Marais and the other Lutsen properties and pet friendly. The Villas are a bit dated, but well maintained and very clean. Tons of towels. The bedroom situation is kind of odd. We had 5 adults (described at sleeps 6) Master had a queen and gorgeous view with a small deck overlooking Lake Superior. The other bedroom had a queen with a single bunk bed above it and then a lofted additional single bed…kind of a different set up, so our fifth slept on the couch, which didn’t appear to be a sleeper. Two full bathrooms. A FULLY (wow) equipped kitchen (with items I’ve never seen included in any other rental!) wood burning stove with a ton of wood and individual grills for each unit were also a big plus. Also had free smores supplies you could make in the rock beach Would recommend, just check out the second bedroom situation if you’re traveling with adults. Perfect long weekend get away."

"We had a great stay with our sons and their girlfriends! We enjoyed a lakeside fire, spending time on the deck taking in the great view, and hiking at a few of the great spots nearby. There was a great space for lawn games that we brought along, although Mother Nature sent a full day of rain so that didn't happen. No matter, we moved indoors for board games in the light and airy living area and enjoyed watching the weather cross over the lake. After the fierce competition, some found their way back to their comfortable bedrooms and listened to the thunder while drifting off to a rainy afternoon nap. The kitchen was well stocked - although I would suggest adding a 9x13 pan and a pizza pan. We did have to replenish the toilet paper during our stay as there was only one additional roll in each room, but the grocery store is a quick drive away and it came in handy for things we forgot to pack. Also a great asset to this property was being able to drive down to the lakeside fire pit as I have knee issues and it was great to be able to enjoy that time with my family. Thank you for a wonderful time spent with family at one of our favorite vacation spots!!"
