We only stayed the one night but the experience was very good. The staff went out of their way to make our visit enjoyable, recommending places to eat and local attractions. It has a lovely little courtyard. Breakfast was very good.

We stayed 2 nights at Hotel UMASS. The staff was beyond amazing. My family had booked the wrong room through a 3rd party and the minute I explained what happened they adjusted my room no questions. The hotel was clean, comfortable and well maintained. I can not recommend this hotel enough.

We stayed 5 days in the ground floor coach house room which was a lovely, large room with a sitting and dinning area as well as a private patio area. The room was lovely, AC worked great on an extremely hot week and the breakfast, all days snacks and common area were great as well.
The staff was helpful with tips about things to do in the area. We had a great visit.

The operator/owner are very nice. The house is quiet old time but clean and comfort. Breakfast was excellent. The only problem is that the old house does not provide sound proof between rooms, I can hear the exact works spoken in next door.

Loved the Black Walnut Inn. I would love to go back. The rooms are lovely. Breakfast is delicious. A very generous spread. Self-serve tea and coffee is available at all times in the dining room area. There are also treats one can help oneself too. Chocolate chip cookies our first day and molasses cookies the second. Meghan bakes the best cookies. Seriously, the best. The owners are very warm. If we visit Amherst again, staying here would be our first choice. Thank you.
