Opposite is the historic town of Vittoriosa (Birgu), where the Great Siege took place in 1565\. Next to it lies the cosmopolitan Cottonera Waterfront with restaurants, cafés and promenades leading to the Camper and Nicholson Yacht Marina. The modern kitchen has all the appliances you would expect, including a dishwasher. The open plan living room leads directly onto the terrace and there is free broadband internet WiFi throughout the apartment. Towards the rear one can find two double bedrooms and a terrace overlooking a quiet pedestrian street of character, typical of the area. There is also a separate bathroom. The apartment is on Siren Street which is a pedestrian alleyway, just off St. Philip’s Church; the apartment is on the third floor served by a small lift (which takes you to the second floor and then it’s a further flight of stairs up on foot). The apartment is perfectly situated for all the cultural sights in the area. Valletta is a short trip away on the regular ferry across the harbour. Hiring a car is recommended, especially if you would like to visit the sister islands of Gozo and Comino, go swimming or explore off the beaten track. There are restaurants and cafés along the Senglea promenade and the Vittoriosa waterfront is only a short walk around Dockyard Creek, or a quick hop across the water on a traditional water dghajsa (“dysa”). There you will find a variety of restaurants, wine bars and cafés. The Marsa Sports Club, offering tennis and golf facilities, lies just a couple of km away. Le penthouse était vraiment conforme à l'annonce. Excellente situation sur le grand Harbour face au fort San Angelo. L'appartement était parfait : tout confort (vive la clim !) bien meublé avec une touche artistique fort appréciable (tableaux divers). Pour la voiture pas de souci : nous avons vite trouvé où nous garer pour partir facilement le matin en excursion e nous trouvions facilement une place le soir pour stationner. La terrasse était fort appréciable la journée mais aussi le soir où nous ne nous sommes jamais lassé de la vue. Le propriétaire a répondu aux questions que l'on pouvait avoir très rapidement (par mail) et nous a donné des infos touristiques complémentaires. L'appartement n'était pas très propre à notre arrivée . Mais Daniel le propriétaire à répondu très vite à notre message et à fait passer sa femme de ménage pour y remédier . Attention, la terrasse est au soleil pratiquement toute la journée et il n'y avait qu'une moitié de store par rapport à la photo du site . Pour accéder à l'appartement, il y a un petit ascenseur jusqu'au 2 ème étage, le dernier est à monter à pied (20 marches environ). C'est l'atout majeur de cet appartement, également proche de 3/4 restos/snacking et des 3 cités et leur beauté. La propreté laissait malheureusement à désirer pour ce standing (ménage général, linge de lit, nous avons dû nettoyer le frigo avant de mettre nos affaires...). Un store extérieur est cassé et nous avons eu des problèmes électriques : n'avons pas pu utiliser les plaques ! Manque un micro-ondes...Cet appartement doit être entretenu pour proposer la prestation qu'il mérite par son emplacement et sa bonne configuration (assez grand pour 4 personnes). ##### GONTHARET N. This is not a sterile apartment, you walk in and it feels like a home, which we loved. Nearby shops are a little limited, however we found Catherine’s Bakery which is at the front of Senglea/Isla and it sells everything you need and it’s all priced. My wife and I had a wonderful time at this penthouse. We stayed for 5 days and enjoyed the views, comforts, and amenities the apartment provided to help make our stay comfortable and relaxing. Daniel was the perfect host and his flat was exactly as advertised. He was very responsive and flexible to our needs. Daniel's dad was very sweet when he met us for our arrival and tour. The location is quiet, yet within walking or ferry distance from everything. We were also pleasantly surprised at how quickly we could get a Bolt car right at the square at the top of the steps. Cheap and easy to get around the entire island. The view from the flat is superb and we witnessed gorgeous sunrises and sunsets over the grand Harbour and the huge deck. We were lucky enough to be there for the International Fireworks Display which was spectacular. The apartment is in the old city of Senglea with lots of steps to keep you fit! It's well equipped and stylish and has everything you need for a holiday. The ferry to Valletta runs every 30 mins and is the ferry stop is a 20 mins walk around the bay. There are plenty of good restaurants within 10 - 20 mins walk. Daniel arranged for his dad to meet us on arrival and was able to sort out early check in for us and showed us around the place. The apartment is in a truly spectacular position having unmatched views of Valletta and the 3 Cities and a lovely terrace on which to enjoy the sun. Joseph and Mrs Joseph met on us on arrival and could not have been more helpful in settling us in. The apartment was well equipped and expensively furnished. There are lots of steps, up to the apartment and in the area in general, so difficult for someone with bad knees! We look forward to returning. ##### Brian H.
