"Wow what a lovely hotel, staff so very welcoming and very helpful. Room was immaculately clean. We booked one night as we had tickets to see Fishermans Friends at the Regent Theatre. Was perfect walking distance. Great view of the waterfront from our window even though we were in a room on the side. Breakfast was really well cooked. Would highly recommend. We loved our stay here"

"My partner and I recently enjoyed a delightful 2-night stay at The Ship Inn, and it exceeded all expectations. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by warm and welcoming staff who made us feel right at home. The accommodation was not only spotlessly clean but also charmingly quirky, adding a unique touch to our stay. Despite being mid-week, the pub buzzed with activity, filled with friendly locals that added to the cozy atmosphere. We made an advance dinner reservation at the dining area and were impressed by the menu selection and the quality of the food. Both the restaurant and pub staff were incredibly attentive and professional throughout our meal, ensuring a memorable experience. Breakfast was a treat with a nice selection of options available, all served to our table by cheerful staff, which was a lovely touch compared to self-serve setups. The location of The Ship Inn, just a stone's throw from the beach, was an added bonus, allowing us to enjoy leisurely strolls by the seaside. Overall, we felt incredibly well looked after during our stay and cannot wait to return. The Ship Inn truly offers a perfect blend of comfort, hospitality and charm, making it an ideal choice for a relaxing getaway. Highly recommended!"

"Whilst I notice other reviewers mention refurbishment, there was not much disruption when I visited (early May 2024) Plus points - Check in was easy and very welcoming. Bedroom was spacious, modern, clean and facilities in room were good. There was a bath and shower over which was nice and although the bathroom definitely did need refurbishment (was dated and showing wear and tear) it was clean, which was the most important thing. The bed was comfortable and I slept well which I don't often do in a hotel! For me a huge plus was location (very easy when coming from the west country) and the EV chargers - these were a revelation as there were several and I was able to re-charge overnight so I will definitely book this hotel again, just for this convenience. Cons - just the fact that the restaurant seemed to be closed so no breakfast option. One other thing for the hotel to note, whilst it didn't impact me, there were petrol vehicles parked in two of the EV charging bays for the duration of my stay which could have been frustrating for other EV drivers. Otherwise a great stay and IMO better that other chain hotels at a similar price point."

"Digital door keys worked perfectly and you didn't have to put one in some silly holder before switching the lights on. My only improvement suggestion would be to invest in a second coffee machine. Queuing for coffee every morning is no fun."

"We really enjoyed our stay at Rubblestone Cottage. The cottage was warm and comfortable, with everything we needed. A cosy living room with a window that looks over the meadow, which allows you to watch the visiting wildlife. Main bedroom was very spacious and the bed was comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare food and the owner provides a great list of pubs, restaurants and takeaways. The lighting through out is well placed and there are some strategically placed night lights that are really useful. The communication , before, during and after our visit was superb. Directions to the property in particular were very good. Nice to meet the owners during our stay as this doesnt seem to happen as often these days. Internet and phone signal were excellent. The peaceful location was perfect and yet close to Saxmundham and the coast. Would not hesitate to stay there again."
