"Hotel was very nice. We had a great corner room with large opening windows so felt as though we were outside. Had view of mountains and of the ocean. It was also very large by any standard. It is not ocean front, but that is not so important as there is no beach in Funchal and our room had an ocean view. Only slightly negative observation was lack of things one usually sees in hotels e.g. no water bottles, no lotion..But that slight defect was overwhelmed by the quality of the room."

"Very enjoyable stay with family. Comfortable rooms, pleasant staff, decent breakfast and a la carte, useful games room and squash court. 5 mins walk to restaurants for lunch or dinner. Nice ocean view. 45 mins from airport and 30 mins to Funchal. On quiet part of island which we preferred and hired a car. Would recommend. Hotel was a little dark and if outdoor pools were heated we could swim comfortably. Large hotel. We parked along the road for free. Weather changes a lot in Madeira and different weather in each town. "
