West Virginia really is “almost heaven”. The Schoolies are located just a few miles from the New River Gorge National Park. The buses are located conveniently off a well maintained gravel road and face beautiful rolling hills with hay and wildflowers in season. Deer frequent the pastures along with a family of foxes and Phil, the groundhog who has chosen it as his home. There are two schoolies if you have more people and need more space. The bus location is closer to the other bus than imagined, but no one was occupying the space. This was a home away from home in a secluded area. It was a nice hilly drive to get to the property. We didnt have starter wood for the fire and within 15 minutes someone came by on 4 wheelers and delivered some! The stay did not disappoint. If I could stay for a month I would. We surprised our kids (10 and 12) on a road trip with this stop and the look on their faces as we pulled up was worth every penny out there. While we only stayed one night, we made the most of it, playing games on the outside table, cooking dinner and eating as a group of deer made their way into the field near us, and completed the night with smores.
