"The Harbor House Inn - quiet, great view, small balcony, walking distance to everything and a decent sized room for the occasion. The staff is welcoming, hospitable and helpful. The beds were comfy! This place checked all the boxes. Our only issue was the pungent odor in the room from the moment we walked in. This place is "pet-friendly" so our first thought was that a dog may have been in this room previously and that it may have urinated on the carpet. We've stayed in five different places in Morro Bay over the last two years and have never experienced this issue in any of the places we've stayed in. We're not complainers - we understand "stuff" happens and we usually roll with it. However, after we had left the room for a few hours and came back, the odor was as strong as ever, so I approached the front desk about it. They were booked so we couldn't switch rooms, but they offered to switch us the following day as rooms would become available. The woman behind the desk was as accommodating as she could be under the circumstances and assured us she'd advise the manager the next day (which she did). We ended up buying a few "Glades" plugged them in the wall, and that helped tremendously! We opted not to switch rooms as the we had temporarily solved the problem. However, the odor still remained. Overall - we enjoyed our stay. Would we stay here again? Not sure - we love the location, but wouldn't want to risk walking into a room with this issue again. 3 1/2 stars out of 5."

"We booked a night here last minute to start our trip a day sooner and couldn’t get into our original hotel. I did enjoy it was close to outlets since we planned on doing shopping, parking was free, we could pay $15 to check in at 2 and it was a very spacious room with typical amenities including a sink in the little kitchen area. Our only complaint was the people above us playing loud music at midnight for an hour and little kids yelling at each other and sometimes crying until 3 am. I did text the number back (twice) from initial check in about the noise and finally had to call the front desk at 3. Also, when we first arrived we tried to get ice at the vending machine in our building and it wasn’t working but I’m sure that has more to do with people filling up ice chests."

"We booked a 2-room suite which had 2 queen beds and a living area with a Murphy bed. The beds were so COMFY!!! Suite extremely clean! Staff very respectful and helpful. We didn’t have time for continental breakfast, though I’m sure it was great. The complimentary coffee offered through the day was delicious!!! La Quinta in Paso Robles was one of the best hotels we’ve ever experienced - highly recommend!!!!"
