Find hotels in Saint-Thomé from CA $73

The best area to stay in Saint-Thomé is within the village itself, particularly around the central square and the streets leading off it.

This area forms the heart of Saint-Thomé, offering a compact and walkable experience. You'll find the Mairie (town hall) and the historic church here, along with a few local shops and a restaurant. The village is built on a hillside, so expect some gentle inclines, and many properties offer views of the surrounding countryside and the River Ardèche valley.

Couples looking for a tranquil escape will find staying directly in the village excellent. It provides a peaceful setting for enjoying local life, with easy access to walks through the vineyards and olive groves right from your doorstep. The relaxed pace is superb for unwinding.

For those travelling with a family, staying on the outskirts of the village, perhaps in a gîte or villa with its own grounds, can be a good option. These properties often provide more space for children to play and may include amenities like private swimming pools.

The best time to visit Saint-Thomé is during the late spring or early autumn, specifically from May to June or September to October.

These months offer pleasant weather, with comfortable temperatures ideal for exploring the natural beauty of the Ardèche region. You'll find fewer crowds compared to the peak summer months, meaning a more relaxed experience when visiting local markets or enjoying outdoor activities.

Couples often find these periods great for a romantic getaway. The mild weather allows for scenic walks through the vineyards and olive groves, and you can enjoy the local cuisine in a more tranquil setting. Many outdoor activities, such as kayaking on the Ardèche River or exploring the Gorges de l'Ardèche, are very enjoyable without the summer heat.

For those looking for an active holiday, these shoulder seasons are also excellent. The conditions are suitable for hiking and cycling, with the landscape at its most inviting.
