This exceptional waterfront estate unites grand, contemporary architecture with equally stunning furnishings and art, into a 8,800 sq. ft. home on the shores of Lake Pend Oreille. Located just 3 miles from downtown Sandpoint, Villa Z resides on nearly 3 acres of cedar and pine trees and includes: manicured grounds, 156 feet of flat waterfront, a private sandy beach, dedicated dock with boat lift, fire pit, paddle boards, kayaks AND a hot tub. Breathe easy with a state-of-the-art HEPA filtration system that has been installed to remove bacteria and viruses from the air throughout the home, for added protection. This luxuriously renovated home has 7 bedrooms, 5.5 baths, a gourmet kitchen, sunken bar, pool table, including the 'Z Zone' (a massive bunk & entertainment room with 3 Queens, 3 XL bunks - all with cubbies & charging ports for those tech savvy teens), and a 75” HD Smart TV — creating a zone that families, friends, kids/cousins/grandkids will all love! Villa Z is just 17 miles from Schweitzer Mountain (the largest ski mountain in Idaho), and is less than 30 minutes drive to Silverwood Amusement & Water Park. Located on 43 mile-long Lake Pend Oreille and being minutes from downtown Sandpoint, makes this location ideal for family reunions, luxury lake vacations, “milestone” birthdays, a special anniversary, corporate retreats, and winter skiing. Enjoy quiet conversations around the spectacular wave wall fireplace in the living room or watch your favorite sport or movie on a 65" TV that 'raises' out of a low profile entertainment cabinet. Celebrate that special birthday or anniversary in the gorgeous dining room. A large sunken bar, replete with pony keg tap and ice machine, is perfect for evening cocktails and entertaining and the Brunswick billiards table leads to an 8 ball challenge. Great homes have great kitchens, and Villa Z is no exception. This Epicurean kitchen will delight the serious cook with its 4 foot long Viking range, double ovens, and warming drawers. Plentiful and gorgeous, quartz and granite counter tops provide ample work space for the sous chef and wannabes. Custom cabinetry, wood floors, full size refrigerator with full size freezer, bake ware and kitchen staples complete this incredible kitchen. An enormous “butler’s pantry”, behind the main kitchen, provides a separate area for the clean-up crew. An expansive master suite with sitting area is located on the main floor and provides room for families with small children (crib, toddler bed and sleeper sofa). A smaller sleeping room with Queen-sized Murphy bed, plus a private office and a "gear room" with commercial-grade boot/gear dryer, complete the first floor layout. Take the sweeping spiral staircase up to reach 5 additional bedrooms (Midaz King, Zen Queen, Azure Queen, Gaze Queen, and Z Zone - 3 Queens, 3 Twin XLs), the stunning new observatory, and 3 full bathrooms. All beds and bathrooms are fully appointed with luxury linens. Summers in Sandpoint finds everyone outside. In addition to the sprawling patio and outdoor kitchen, a variety of stylish seating, tables and chairs, plus a 100' long sandy beach with fire pit at the water's edge (\*yes, we even provide the wood\*) awaits you. The large flat lawn is perfect for volleyball, badminton or croquet. Feeling the need to really explore our incredible area, where there are no paved walkways? Do a quick online search to find the many hiking trails North Idaho has to offer, from easy jaunts to full-on climbs that take most of the day. Villa Z is unique in size, design, privacy and amenities. However it is not an event venue, so please no wedding or large reception requests. In addition, absolutely \*\*no pets\*\* at the owners have serious & significant allergies. CCTV exterior security cameras are in place. \*\*NOTE: Each year, on September 18th OR the 3rd Sunday in September (whichever is later), the Army Corps of Engineers begins dropping the water level of Lake Pend Oreille until ultimately reducing it by a total of 10-12 feet. Around the 4th week in September ALL boat docks and boat lifts on the lake become inaccessible and unusable, as the water completely recedes back from the shoreline leaving just bare ground beneath the docks. The agreement with the Army Corps of Engineers states the lake level must be restored to full pool level each year no later than July 4th, however, the last 10+ years the lake water has been at full pool level around the 2nd or 3rd week in June. The Neighborhood: Located less than 2 miles down Lakeshore Drive, this estate is on 3 acres of flat waterfront with privacy, huge beach and ample parking. Getting Around: We recommend either renting a car or a bike to get around. Lakeshore drive requires you to cross long bridge before you can get into downtown Sandpoint. Luxury property - appointed very nicely, and really well stocked with kitchen supplies and laundry (3 sets of washers/dryers). We had 16 people and there was plenty of space for everyone to get away and get some privacy. Lots of board games and lawn/lake toys. Cornhole was a favorite. Early morning paddle board and kayaking. We rented a boat nearby and tied up to our private dock. We even chartered a fishing trip and had them come get us by water. A close 5 minute drive to Sandpoint for any groceries/supplies that might have been forgotten. The management company was super responsive when issues came up. We recently had a large group of family, friends, and kids stay at VillaZ and we had an incredible time! The house is beautiful and extremely spacious, even though we had around 20 guests. The grounds are lovely and we even had some luck catching fish off the dock. The kids and grownups loved paddleboarding and kayaking. The mountain backdrop against the lake was like staring at a postcard. The management company was communicative and accommodating. While it took a little time to figure out what all the light switches were for, the place was perfect for our business retreat! There were plenty of space for breakout sessions, space for almost everyone to have their own room/bathroom. When it comes to the kitchen, we had hired a private chef. He found that there was limited refrigeration! An extra refrigerator in the garage would have come in handy as he had food for four days. Could have used a few small serving tongs, serving spoons, and medium size serving platters. Everything else was in great working order!! We had an issue with two of the coffee pots the first morning and management brought a new replacement quickly!! We did have a few who were looking forward to having access to the dock, but upon arrival we found a note that stated it was not to be used until after our check out date. Would have been nice to know that it was not going to be available prior to our check in. Overall the space was amazing! First off, I have to say the property management company was AMAZING!! They took great care of us and even sent someone out on Thanksgiving since we tripped a breaker and weren't able to get into the room where the breaker was. The home and property were beautiful and everything we could have asked for. The kitchen was so well stocked and this is coming from a family of cooks. We did bring some of our own supplies but that is because we were picky about how we cooked our turkey. The one thing it needs is some new can openers. Plenty of coffee machines, the ice machine was great in the bar area, and five bedrooms, the additional murphy bed (which was a memory foam bed as well) and the kids room gave us plenty of room for 6 couples and 8 kids. The house was perfect——immaculately clean, well-planned in the layout, and the best equipped property we have ever rented! Everything was there in abundance from wine glasses, silverware, cooking utensils and tons of “necessities” to get us started in the beautiful kitchen. The staff were polite, friendly and very responsive to every inquiry. They brought extra life jackets within an hour of our request, came to fix a blown fuse right away——great customer service.
