"Very poorly maintained rooms. Not as advertised. TV didn’t work, latches broken on windows, peeling paint, damp patches on ceiling. Staff didn’t make an effort to resolve our concerns properly when raised and seemed to think the condition was acceptable."

"Lovely spacious room for my family of 4. Clean, ample towels, and bedding. General areas all clean, staff were very pleasant and helpful. Parking was easy and onsite, and it's great how close you are walking distance into Lyndhurst high street. Breakfast was very nice and had plenty of choice. Huge thanks! "

"The only problem we encountered with this hotel was that there wasn't a lift or secure place to leave our luggage. My husband and I are elderly and were on route to go on a cruise from Southampton so had two large heavy suitcases and there were no ground floor rooms available. The young lady on reception, however, was brilliant and took both cases to our room, not an easy feat! Really enjoyed our stay and will choose this hotel in the future."

"Stayed four nights in a superior room which was clean and comfortable with the usual amenities. Access up the very steep and narrow stairs not for anyone with poor mobility. The breakfast was excellent but could have had more options beside the cooked breakfast. Meals and drinks in the evening were great. Parking was ok, but could be difficult in the busier months . A quiet location with direct access to a beautiful part of the forest. The pub has no staff on site during the night which is a little disconcerting."

"Our host, Nick, was so friendly and helpful. He made our stay delightful. The accommodations were. comfortable and beautiful. Surrounding town and parks were wonderful. The included breakfast was delicious and filling. I would suggest that Nick put a thermostat on the heater, have directions for use of the shower controls and have more space for toiletries in the bathroom."

"Lovely New Forest pub. Very friendly atmosphere. Large clean room, comfy bed, modern bathroom. Very quiet at night. Big breakfast, varied evening meals and excellent beer. New Forest ponies on the green and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's grave two minutes up the road! Excellent value. Really enjoyed our stay, thanks."
