« As soon as we arrived, the clerk told us how to get to our room, but it wasn't clear. The manager took care of us to show us our room. His purpose was to sell us the dinning facility, and he was a little too pushy for me! The driveway to the check in had a big hole which was easy to fix temporarily with a bag of gravel rock! The front door of our room was filled with sticky leaves from last fall. The environment around the Hotel is splendid. »

« Les plus : une vue splendide sur le lac avec une piscine et une terrasse très confortables. Les moins : l’odeur des moquettes dans les chambres. L’hôtel accepte les chiens mais la moquette n’est pas du tout adaptée ! En entrant dans notre chambre il y avait une odeur de « chien mouillé » très désagréable. Et pas possible d’ouvrir les fenêtres pour aérer… Le petit déjeuner propose pas mal de choses mais tout est proposé dans des assiettes en carton, des bols en carton, des verres en plastique...

« The view from the balcony of our lakefront room was lovely. Unfortunately the balcony had not been cleaned - a few pieces of trash but the a/c unit about 6” from the chairs were covered in bugs. Hard to keep it clean with the nearby water but this was there when we arrived. The room was recently renovated and was lovely. We liked the location and had a great time in the area. We ate at the restaurant the last evening and enjoyed our food. »

« Rating: 2.5–3 stars This property sits in an absolutely beautiful location with stunning views of the lake and the hills to the west. The sunsets are truly incredible, and the overall atmosphere is quiet and peaceful. The front yard has a lot of charm and potential, though the grass was noticeably overgrown during my stay. The experience itself was unusual. I was greeted briefly by someone who handed me the key, but after that I didn’t see a single staff member, and there’s no real reception...

« With about 17,000 B&Bs in the U.S., it’s pretty easy to find one wherever you travel.The challenge is to find a good one. We’ve found a really GREAT one. Burdett House in Burdett, N.Y., outside Watkins Glen has all of the requisites for its status. The charming multi-story house is a throwback to an earlier time with classic charm. It’s location was perfect for our daily excursions. And the best part was Ashley and Dave, the owners and hosts. Oh, and let’s not forget Hudson the house...
