I did not end up staying at the reserved property. The resort was sold and so my reservation was transferred to another resort. The resort itself was nice but the food was very disappointing. I also found out the resort I paid for was more expensive than the resort they transferred me to and no refund was provided to make up the difference.

In need of upgrades. Had to switch rooms because shower was emitting horrible sulfur smells that stunk up whole room. Bed mattress had giant hole in it. Room faced a construction site that started at 7:45 every morning. Most staff was very helpful and nice but concierge was unbelievably and shockingly rude and obnoxious. And not just to us. He is in the wrong line of work.

We loved how clean the property was. There was always someone doing maintenance and maintaining the grounds. However, we pitched a swim up room and was advertised as a bar was close by, the bar was completely closed and you could not get a drink. It was advertised that they had 4 eateries, however they were all closed and you could only order or eat at the bar. If you wanted something from a closed restaurant, you could order but only had 2 choices and there were only what the outside bar areas could produce. The ocean was beyond horrific! There was so much seaweed. We understand that they can not control that, but the photos online do not show any seaweed. Once arriving we were told it has been like that for a year. There was a red flag and you were not able to get or utilize the ocean. They then las a list of scheduled events going on through out the day. We tried to attend 2 of them and no one from the staff showed up to make the events happen. Everything we were told and sold on the website was not useable or feasible. We were so upset we left the property as we were not able to do anything, except swim, and that was only for 8 hours a day and on their schedule. Beyond upset and disappointed.

The property was very well maintained and relaxing. Beautiful views of the ocean and many available cabanas lined the beach. The main pool with a swim up bar was a little small but there is a second one on the other side of the property that was always empty.

Loved the smaller setting and the amenities, particularly for children. Didn’t like the room at all (I wasn’t even aware does kind of rooms existed in the property) and the food was everything but gourmet. Breakfast buffet was ok but lunch/dinner more like Chillis/Applebees quality

My family and i have been to many different resorts/ hotels in Mexico over the last 8 years... we've been to 5 star hotels as well as 3.5 stars. This one definitely stood out! #1 thing is service! Customers are really important, and everyone really does their best to accommodate each guest. The food is great! The beach is amazing! They clean every bit of grass on it all day long! We loved it that it was a small resort and everything was conveniently close by! At breakfast and lunch Noel and Antonio were amazing! They always made us feel welcomed! We we're excited to see them every day)! Also on the beach, Perla was great! She always went out of her way on finding daybeds and accommodating our needs! She's very friendly and sweet! These were just a few people that stood out...but overall very many are great to! Its hard to remember everyone's name! The resort is very and i mean VERY kid friendly! Every restaurant has their own kids menu. The beach has a basket full of beach sand toys! We saw they even provide stroller, baby bathtubs, cribs and baby food to families with infants and small babies! This was very unique compared to any other resort we've been to! Over all we really enjoyed our stay and had a great time!

Loved the food and service. Not impressed with our room. It was old, dingy and had tiny ants all over. Not cleaned properly though we tipped everyday generously. The room had a old smell to it though we were told our room and pillows would have the scent we picked when checking in.

Perfect property for a family with small children. We have an 8 month old and a 2.5 year old. Smaller resort, but they absolutely cater to young families (lots of kids pools/activities), nice beach, great food and truly amazing staff. We will certainly go back. Highly recommend this resort!

Stayed here in December, overall I liked the property, it's not too big which is nice, not super crowded when I went. There are several restaurants at the property with a variety of food to choose from. Room was large, bed comfortable and grounds very clean. They also have a really nice spa if you want to take advantage of a massage or other spa like activities. The staff were all very nice as well. This report is great for families, there were a lot of families there with small kids. I have a couple of things that I wanted to point out that were a little odd. 1-Housekeeping-Cleaned the room at some point during the day, then someone came back at like 8 to ask if we needed towels and then someone knocking on the door at 9:30 asking us if we want waters. This happened a couple times. I could not figure out why they didn't just do all this stuff during the day and who comes to someone's room at 9:30? Another day, we were out all day and no one cleaned our room. This time, went to the desk and asked them to have someone clean it (5:pm) went back to the room at like 10 and it was not cleaned. 2-Beach-It's nice but there's a fair amount of seaweed pretty much every day I was there. They do have people raking it and dumping it but it's there. It really was not a huge deal, just mentioning it. The beach itself is soft sand, the swimming area in front was shallow so also good for little kids, they have kayaks if you want to use them.

Loved that this property was small and that ALL staff in all the departments went above and beyond there wasnt anything disappointing. Although I must comment that the taxi fares into the city were a bit much 80.00 US one way for a 20 min cab ride. Not too enticing.

From the moment you enter the property you’re greeted with smiles, a cold towel to freshen up and Champagne. The property is absolutely immaculate. Before you get your room they give you tiny samples of what you want your room to smell like, the kind of soap you’d like in your room as well as small pillow samples. The restaurants are great. The drinks aren’t as strong as I’d liked them to be but there good nonetheless. They have daily attractions such as: live music, bingo nights, Nickelodeon games by the pool, volleyball tournaments, a circus-which I thought was very nice, and many more things that took place while I was out of the resort exploring Mexico.I did however have a horrific experience with a taxi driver who was supposed to take me to a few places and wait until it was time to take me back to the resort. Instead of waiting he left me stranded at the mall. When I called the resort to see if they could get in touch with him they said that he wasn’t answering his phone nor his car radio. When I got back to the hotel hours later there he was with this silly smile on his face. Not only that he lied and said that I wasn’t where I was supposed to be and he waited for me. Mind you I got there early and not to mention I do have a sense of direction when it comes to a simple mall. Thankfully the manager was there to ease my frustration. The rest of my stay was perfect. I also appreciated the staff for remembering my name. Amazing resort I fully recommend your stay here.

The Staff was entertaining and allowed a personal experience they all welcomed my family and created a comfort as if it was your own home. Its a smaller resort which is great in this case to feel at home. The entertainment staff went above and beyond to make sure you were comfortable along with the waiter staff they all remember you by name. (Alberto, Joaquin and Diego very kind to the kids) It was a stress free week no worries other than what time do you want to go swimming. the Seaweed this time of year was heavy everyday but the hotel had workers present everyday cleaning and keeping it down to a minimum against nature. ALl day they they worked to keep to a minimum which is appreciated. The beach is a little smaller than others parts of mexico which, again, allows for a more exclusive experience The Food is a 3.5 - 4.0 out of 5 but worth it and will go again.

Beautiful facility, excellent food/drinks and a super friendly staff. (Ulysses, Evelyn, Jonathan, Joan, Antonio, just to name a few.) Only downfall was swimming, seaweed issues that was not in anyone's control. They worked extremely hard to clear it out but that was not humanly possibly.

Azul beach riviera maya
We had stayed at the Azulejo resort 2 nights for a wedding. Hotel lobby outside and very hot. Resort has 2 sides: villas with old villas, my opinion maybe 3 star accommodation. Bathroom very small. Shower floor VERY slippery. AC unit got stuck to a 25 Celsius degree. Could not turn it off, or change temperature. Called front office about it. They said that will send a technician immediately,, but we left after 2 days and the AC was not repaired. The vanity was very small, round and the faucet over the vanity made it hard to wash.....I would definitely not go back. The other side of resort I was shown during a travel presentation only. That was very nice and I would say 4 stars. It had swim up pools. I had paid about $ 500/night all inclusive but got the ugly, dark, small bathroom room. The bed was comfortable. The restaurants good, but the breakfast Blue place had no AC or fans. Very hot, humid.....we dinned at the Latin and everything was good,food and service. And AC worked well :). Overall I am very disappointed with the resort part that we were offered. Workers were nice, respectful, and kept the landscape very clean. Oh. The swimming pools are clean but on a small size. We did not go in any excursions. Couldn’t wait to get out of there. Resort is very secluded. Rivera Maya is about 20 min. From Cancún. We had 3 nights booked in Cancun hotel Krystal Grand hotel. This hotel and experience At Krystal IT WAS BEAUTIFUL! I will never go back to Azul Riviera Maya

This resort is excellent for families. They have all of the amenities that you need for a baby for toddler. The service was excellent and everyone on the staff was very polite and friendly. The food and drinks were also better than most of the adults only all inclusive resorts was have stayed at. The only negative was that they were doing construction in the room next to ours. It was very loud and our 8 month old couldn't nap. Then they used some sort of very strong glue that had a horrible odor and we had to change rooms. Would request a room that isn't near any construction.

Fint hotell med väldigt god mat. Vi hade bokat en lyxary suit som skulle ha delvis havsutsikt och bubbelbadkar men det stämde inte enligt hotellet att rummet hade utsikten och badkaret vilket vi blev besvikna för. Men hotellet var sjyssta och uppgraderade oss till ett rum med bubbelbadkar och utsikt som dessutom var större, så fint rum! Smidigt att inte behöva boka restauranger i förväg och bra med a la carte, väldigt god mat och service. Jättefina pooler och bra strand med härliga sängar. Dock väldigt svårt och krångligt att svårt att få säng på stranden, måste bokas och var fullbokat våra dagar. Lyckades stå på väntelista och få säng på stranden en av våra tre dagar. Tycker det bör vara enklare att få sängar på stranden när man bor på ett så fint hotell där allt ska ingå. Det förtog en del av upplevelsen. Var även tråkigt att det kändes som man borde lämna dricks överallt på restauranger/barer, skönt att slippa hålla på med pengar när det är all incl. Italienska rest var väldigt god.

Really enjoyed our stay except for the sales pitch to join their vacation program. They were very persistent trying to get me to listen to their pitch. Other then that we had a great time and plan on returning for another stay.

Decent all-inclusive
Pros: 1. Hotel has private beach 2. Cabanas are luxurious and big 3. The waitresses/bartenders/beach staff are incredibly friendly - gives the hotel a more personal feel because they remember your name and will go above and beyond to help with what they can 4. Lots of restaurant/food options - most of them are delicious Cons: 1. You only get to use the cabanas ONCE during your entire stay. I didn't at first believe the reviews that mentioned this, but it's a thing. On the other days of your vacation, you have to wait until 11am when someone else cancels their cabana or use the beach chairs that are first-come-first-serve. 2. Things not included in all-inclusive: premium alcohols and premium wines - these really bugs me because all-inclusive minus the best quality things doesn't count as all inclusive to me. 3. We were bombarded with offers of dinner on the beach, paying to be part of a membership for the Karisma brand, spa services, etc. It was relentless. Every day without fail, a member of the staff would find you and for 5 minutes try to convince you to pay extra for something. It isn't the staff's fault, it's the hotel's fault for making the staff do it. 4. They have live music very often (which is technically a pro), but if your room is in the main area, then you will hear it until it stops (11pm)

Great Resort but Could Have a Few Improvements
This is a very nice resort - however, there are some things that could be improved. One of the most disappointing aspects of this visit was that before arriving I thought that tips were included in the price we paid, but a couple days into our stay we realized that tips were highly needed and pretty much expected by the staff. In fact, we felt almost guilted into forking out more cash for everything in order to get more attention. The only good thing about this was that the front desk had change for American $ so that we could easily get more. I wish the resort paid its employees better and restricted tipping because we spent way more money than we anticipated, in fact they are lucky we had enough cash at all. Another thing to note, they did ask when we arrived to each restaurant if we had food allergies which is great! But the level of cautiousness completely depended on the knowledge/zealousness of the waiter. I had to continually ask (most of the time) to each waiter if every item had my allergen or not. Sometimes I still had a breakout and sometimes I didn’t. It was hit or miss. I did have one waiter ask me if I was really allergic or did I just not like my allergen..really!So that part of my stay I knew would be challenging, but that also led me to feeling like I needed to tip more. The grounds were BEAUTIFUL & the spa was very nice. If it hadn’t cost so much we would have done more there. Our bed was super comfortable, but we did notice a few things that need repair

best vacation ever
The trip we had in Mexico was the best vacation ever. The staff were extremely helpful and courteous. They went out of there way to insure we were taken care of. The cabanas by the beach were great as we were able to jump in the water at our leisure or just relax in the shade.
