Find hotels in Riva from CA $81

The best area to stay in Riva is around the historic centre and along the lakefront promenade.

This area is the heart of Riva, offering easy access to the main attractions and the lake. You'll find a pedestrianised zone with cobbled streets, historic buildings, and plenty of shops, restaurants, and cafes. The main square, Piazza III Novembre, is a focal point, right by the harbour where you can catch ferries. The lakefront promenade stretches for miles, superb for walks or cycling.

For couples, staying near the historic centre provides a romantic setting. You're steps away from intimate dining experiences and can enjoy evening strolls along the illuminated promenade. Proximity to the Rocca di Riva, a medieval fortress, and the Torre Apponale, a prominent clock tower, adds to the charm and offers lovely views.

Families will appreciate hotels along the lakefront promenade, especially those slightly to the north or west of the very centre, towards the beaches. These locations often offer more spacious rooms and direct access to the calmer waters of the lake, which are ideal for swimming and paddling.

Riva has a more relaxed nightlife scene than larger cities, focusing on lakeside enjoyment and evening drinks. You'll find most of the activity concentrated around the lakefront and in the old town.

The main area for evening entertainment is along the lakefront promenade. Here, you'll find numerous bars and cafes with outdoor seating, often offering views of the lake. These establishments typically serve cocktails, local wines, and aperitifs. Many stay open until late, providing a comfortable setting for evening drinks.

Within the old town, especially around Piazza III Novembre and the surrounding pedestrianised streets, there are several pubs and wine bars. These often have a more traditional Italian feel, some with live acoustic music. It's a good spot for a pre-dinner drink or a quieter evening.

For those looking for something a bit more active, a few establishments offer music and dancing, though these are not as numerous as in bigger cities. They tend to be located just outside the historical centre, often towards the northern end of the town.
