The best area to stay in Ricourt is within the village itself, particularly around the central square and the surrounding streets.

This area is the heart of Ricourt, offering a genuine taste of rural French life. The main square, often overlooked by the historic church, is where you'll find the local boulangerie for fresh pastries and bread, and a few small, family-run shops. The streets are narrow and winding, great for a leisurely stroll, and properties often feature traditional stone architecture with private gardens.

For couples seeking a peaceful and authentic escape, staying in the village centre is ideal. You'll be within easy walking distance of the local eateries and have the chance to experience the village's daily rhythm. It's a wonderful base for enjoying quiet evenings and exploring the immediate countryside.

Families will also find staying in the village very convenient. Many properties offer more space and direct access to the village's amenities, making it easy to manage meals and enjoy local activities without needing to drive constantly.

The best time to go to Ricourt is during the late spring (May to June) and early autumn (September to October) when the weather is pleasant and the crowds are smaller.

These shoulder seasons offer warm, sunny days great for exploring the countryside without the intense heat of mid-summer. You'll find the local markets bustling with fresh produce, and it's an ideal time for outdoor activities like cycling or walking through the sunflower fields. It's also when many of the local festivals celebrating food and wine take place.

For those who enjoy a lively holiday and don't mind warmer temperatures, July and August are also excellent, as Ricourt truly comes alive with summer events and activities. However, it's the peak season, so you can expect more visitors and higher prices for accommodation and flights.
