This was a nice old house. Very Clean and had everythign we needed. Arrival- We arrived at night and struggled a little bit with the lack of light and unconfirmed parking. The Vacasa Customer Service was very helpful when we had to call to get the outside door code. There is a spot on the left side of the house as mentioned on the ad. However, there was already a car there and didn't want to block it in. We did park off to the side of it near the porch which was doable due to our small car. Overall- nice older house with lots of personality and close enough to walk to the downtown and wharf areas.
Easy walking distance to tourist area and ball park. Safe neighbourhood. Home is very comfortable.

Great location
Centrally located apartment near lots of dining options, green space and art museum within walking distance. A bright and tastefully furnished space with comfortable beds. Down sides are: no laundry on site, a cramped bathroom, shared parking and several unfinished aspects to the space.

Cumberland Avenue Casa
This home was very clea, well appointed, and comfortable. The mattresses were just right. The neighborhood is quiet at night and within walking distance of all Portland's attractions. The security locks were a bit tricky to figure out, but we were able to get assistance from the Vacasa staff. Overall, an excellent rental!!

Bright, spacious home in a great location
After a bit of confusion getting into the house, we found a nice, very well lit, spacious home with lots of windows. The beds were pretty comfy. The location was great, easy walk to the state theater, easy to walk to lots of cool bars and restaurants. The harbor and that touristy area were about 20 to 25 minute walk away, which was lovely in the nice weather. Overall, it Served well, for four people wanting to explore Portland.

Not great
The location was good, although on a busy street. The entry was dilapidated with dead potted plants, and trash. Kitchen not well stocked with cooking supplies. Parking spot not guaranteed. Seems to be under construction/remodel. Dishwasher and freezer did not work.

Meh
It was mostly fine. A good location with easy walkable access to downtown. Furnishings were cute but minimal essentials— the dishwasher was broken, the sofa bed was broken, construction equipment scattered about so backyard was unusable, towels smelled like smoke, and only 2 rolls of TP for stay. The outside door code was only shared once during the initial booking, and we needed to contact customer service to figure out how to get in. Overall, if you only want to sleep in the beds and get to downtown quickly, it works. Cooking, hanging out, etc would be less easily accommodated.

Very cute interior, walkable to Old Portland
The house is VERY cute, beautiful colors, two big beds in the two very big bedrooms. It had a nice living room with a dining table in there, by the windows (there are LOTS of windows in this home) and the kitchen had everything we needed. We had access to the backyard, which was great for the kids. The locks/keys/codes were easy to use. Sometimes there was someone parked in our parking space, and since there's no street parking right there, that was really inconvenient, but they were nice and moved their car when we could find them. There is a Trader Joe's super close with a great parking lot. The home was very cute and light and bright. We liked it much better than staying in a hotel in the town. We almost opted for a hotel to have a view of the water, but they don't have good views, so we are glad we chose Cumberland A!
The location was clean and relatively quiet for its location on a busy street. A few things were broken (disposal, roll-out bed frame that would not lie flat) or unusable (dishwasher power stopped two minutes into the wash cycle). With the holiday weekend they were not fixed in a timely fashion. The layout of the place with the one bathroom door un-openable was awkward whenever people had to climb over the person sleeping in the living room. Would not recommend this location for a group that needs more than two functional beds, but it would be okay for two couples or a couple with a young child. Hosts were responsive to requests but it must have been tough to try to figure out repairs over a holiday.
This property was listed as having parking for 3 on one page and then on another it was parking first come first serve. We didn't have parking most of our stay. The codes were wrong to the locks, we were stock outside for 30 minutes. The owner drove up and yelled at us for parking in the wrong place... Property was clean, fresh, but not worth the aggrevation of parking and noise from construction that seems to be ongoing there. I was told I was going to get a discount after complaining so much about the parking and never recieved the refund. I should just stick w/ hotels. Lesson learned!
Vacasa is a TERRIBLE company. This is now officially the third time we've been burned by them. When we agreed to renting the property, only then did we realize we were working with Vacasa. One day before check in, we received an email from Vacasa stating if the designated parking spot was not available then to park in the 40/night parking garage down the street. WHAT. No matter how cute and clean this apartment was.... This ruined it all. I spent an hour fighting Vacasa with a VRBO rep on conference call. The Vacasa rep was rude, hostile and straight up gas lighting. When she finally referred me to her MANAGER, did I actually get somewhere. I was promised reimbursements for the parking fees by the time I was done with the hour long call. But shocker, NO REIMBURSEMENTS have been made. Extremely disappointed and not sure where to go from here. The apartment itself was really cute. Two bedrooms, one bath. Very nicely furnished, super clean and within walking distance to Congress St. I wish we didn't have to deal with the parking issue, because this would have been a five star review otherwise. Renters beware.

Nice space, but outweighed by safety concerns
The property itself is located in a great location that allows for walking distance commutes to some good food and sites. If nothing else was wrong I would have given this place 5 stars. However, upon our initial check in we experienced some safety concerns that I'll detail below.
My group entered the residence around 6PM, past the standard 4PM check-in listed and well after the free early check in that was texted to me at 12:25 PM that day. However, once we walked into the residence it was clear someone was still staying there in one of the bedrooms because there was a sleeping bag on the bed, shorts on the ground, and laptop on the side table. We immediately got in contact with Vacasa who said they would look into the issue.
We went out the rest of the night and communicated with Vacasa through phone calls and texts. At 7 PM I was notified that "the owner may have had a few things left at the property" but that I was "ok to enter and stay". It was unclear if any additional cleaning had been done to the room so we ended up having to switch the bedsheets out ourselves and just hope for the best.
On top of this, later in our stay we realized that the spare key to our stay was right above the door frame and not very well hidden, meaning that if anyone just broke into the porch door they could have easily accessed our stuff.
I'm not one to write negative reviews but I was so disappointed in the lack of professionalism and safety concerns displayed by the owner/management.
Clean rooms, beautiful kitchen. Very easy communication.

Cumberland Casa
Great location nice amenities with a few issues such as needing to use paid parking, air conditioning thermostat locked and ice machine broken. Spacious and served its purpose
The house was clean and the area is very walkable to local coffee shops, stores and tourist attractions. The parking situation needs improvement. There is one spot for the whole place and it is first come first serve. There is parking available in a garage down the street. Other guest came to our door late at night asking to move up since we “share” the space. When we voiced our confusion to the host; nothing helpful was given in response.

Great space, newly remodeled
Great space & wifi, walkable to lots of attractions. It’s an historic house, so the walls are thin, you hear neighbors and street noises occasionally. There’s a broken necked guitar in the corner that sounds pretty good!
It is not as close to walking to eateries. There isn't a book to give detailed info of the area, or phone numbers. We had 1 bath towel, 4 wash cloths, 1 hand towel for 4 adults. We had to call and wait, which we eventually received. The living room rug was in need of a good cleaning. We moved a rug and you could tell it hadn't been vacuumed good in a long time. Trash had piled up from others by trash can that was full too. Backyard had construction equipment and inside the house too. Apt. B ladies had trouble opening lockbox and we helped them. Never was able to open their lockbox. We were able to help to know how to lock door without key. Know it's an old house and needs work. We love old homes but clean, well kept ones. Overall,
would not recommend this.
