Stale cigarette odor

Posted 15-Apr-2016
Pros: The hotel and staff were all very nice. It's a good place to stay.
Cons: Stale cigarette odor in room and too-soft mattress could be improved.
Location: Didn't do much, but plenty of places nearby.
I was told the non-smoking room I stayed in "used to be" a smoking room. It certainly smelled that way. The mattress was too soft for me and I woke up with a sore back that caused me undeserved pain during my stay. I do not normally have any back problems.

Great place to stay. Customer service is top notch. The one downside to this hotel is the parking fee they charge you to stay there.

Near to lots of restaurants

Posted 24-Mar-2016
Pros: great location, friendly staff
Cons: Provide water to drink
Location: restaurant, select store, attraction
Great staff in the check-in session, they provide the shuttle to go around. Great stay and a comfort stay, especially after living in the small hotel room in NYC.

Vegetarians live like kings

Posted 15-Feb-2016 on Hotels
This hotel met all expectations and then some. Just the proximity of the hotel to the music venue and restaurant we ate it was unbelievable, but the view and bed were great, and we got room service the next morning--2 croissants literally about 3x the size of a normal one, with at least 3 scrambled eggs, and veggie sausage, with a size of home fries (not listed on the menu from what I could tell), all for under $13 + the tip. This was a huge deal since we are both vegetarians and don't have a lot of extra income.

Service was great. I thought I had booked a non-smoking room but there was an ashtray in our bathroom and the room smelled a bit like stale cigarettes. We are both smokers so it didn't bother us.

Very nice hotel, good location

We watch the band Chicago that day. The hotel was very nice. We only spent one night here. It's clean and it's close to downtown. It was very convenient to stay here and walk to the concert.

Convenient location, Nicer than expected

Posted 19-Jan-2016
Pros: Convenient location and pretty fair price. Room included a mini fridge and microwave which was nice.
Cons: Better sound insulation between rooms, eliminate the additional parking fee for guests.
Location: There are many great places to eat nearby off of High St., and is just a short walk from many more restaurants near the waterfront.
I was pleasantly surprised with the hotel (and room) itself and it's central location to great restaurants in Portland. However, there were a few drawbacks. I did not appreciate needing to pay an additional daily fee for parking. The walls were a bit thinner than I'd hoped; I was easily woken up during the night by just a neighbor's toilet flush or door closing. Lastly, the A/C unit smelled of cigarette smoke when turned on.
