About this property

Lake Front at Mallard Cove Olympic Peninsula

Mallard Cove is the best place on Lake Sutherland! Our grassy lake-front and swimming dock literally get the very last bit of sun all summer long! Our neighborhood is also full of friendly, easy going people. You should have an amazing time!

This is a duplex and the other side is also an Airbnb so if you want to rent both sides for a larger group, click here airbnb.com/h/waterfrontlakesutherland

There is a new deck, with privacy walls and hot tubs for both units!

The place is amazing!
The space
Lake Sutherland is the gateway to the Olympic Peninsula and all its glory! Many hiking destinations, from very easy to extremely difficult are just minutes away. Head one way and the entrance to Hurricane Ridge is only a 20 minute drive. Head the other way and you are at Lake Crescent in 10 minutes. Although, you will find Lake Sutherland to be a much nicer lake to enjoy! It's much warmer for swimming and I provide four kayaks for your enjoyment during your stay! :) Many people who rent our cabin, spend their entire vacation there and love it! I have a gas fire pit to help with cool nights...or simply for the ambiance. The views from the deck are amazing and there is very easy access to the water only a few feet away.

I have a 100% self check-in process. You will automatically receive access to the entry code on the day of your arrival, so late night check-ins are totally fine.
Guest access
Be sure to make yourself at home and take advantage of the clean and warm water of Lake Sutherland. Unlike its very cold, 800' deep neighbor Lake Crescent, Lake Sutherland is spring-fed and only 80' deep, so it gets nice and warm in the summer. It's perfect for swimming and playing in the water! There is a great swim dock just for residents and guests of Lake Sutherland. I provide two kayaks and two paddle boards for each unit. You are free to use them during your stay.
Other things to note
We just recently started allowing dogs. There is a $175 pet fee per dog. This is NOT per day, it is per stay. We are not comfortable with dogs over 20 lbs and non-shedding breeds only.

Dog Rules:
Dogs must be kept on a leash at all times. (community rule)

Please pick-up after your dog.

Please do NOT tie them to the deck railing.

Please do not leave them unattended.

The lake and the view... 😍
We stayed at this property the last three nights during our trip to Washington. What really makes this home spectacular is the location. The view and the lake was just breathtaking. We enjoyed drinking our coffee on the back deck each morning. We ate our dinners on the back patio each night and the grill worked great. We had such a wonderful time being outside and our family enjoyed using the provided paddle boards and kayaks. Close by was a bald eagle's nest and we got to see the two eagles circling around the lake. Loved our time at this home. ❤️ The home was a good size for our family of four. Had everything we needed but I do wish it had an air conditioner. Fans are provided, however, we like our home a bit cooler. But again, we loved the home and would definitely book again.
