"The room was fine, but the service was not. The staff came across as unfriendly, and the manager was outright passive-aggressive. I booked this hotel specifically because it’s advertised as pet-friendly, yet there was no mention of a $60 pet fee when I made the reservation. When I questioned it, the manager’s response was that other hotels charge $100—which completely misses the point. Be upfront about your fees. To make matters worse, there was a leak in my room. When I reported it, I was told it was coming from the third floor and that I could move rooms. By that point, it was highly inconvenient, and no real effort was made to resolve the situation or accommodate me. Overall, not a great experience. Transparency and basic customer service were lacking."

"Emmy at the front desk was awesome! Appreciated having great hours for breakfast and the pool / hot tub. "The Highway Side" had a lot of charm, and is a good distance below the actually highway. Nice grassy areas for the dogs to sniff. "

"This house and location offered our extended family everything we wanted in a great vacation. The kitchen offered plenty of usable cooking/baking and storage items and even a nice assortment of spices etc. The porches and sunroom were great places to hang out, and had lots of places to sit and relax or play games. The kids loved having their "own area" upstairs!The yard is large and the kids were able to play outside. They all had nets that they used to find critters in the tidal pond and at the beach. They especially liked finding so many horseshoe crab shells.Thanks, Hal for providing such great service to your guests!"

"The breakfast was as one would expect. Nothing unusual. I wish these hotels wouldn’t use so much plastic. Everything was clean. Chestertown is wonderful. Good restaurants. Much to see. The hotel is not fancy. Just a reliable place to be. Nothing unexpected. All good."
