"The hot tub was under construction, the staff said it has been down since October 2025. Everything else was excellent"

"The pool and hot tub was shut down the second day of our stay. Our kids were not happy about this. The building is trashy (peeling wallpaper, gross looking stains all over floors or walls, trash randomly all over, poor landscaping, etc) Paying as much as we did for this stay and as guests you’re STILL expected to collect and take out your own trash, strip all the bedding and put it by the door, run dishwasher, and collect any towels in a pile is absolutely ridiculous. This is the hotel/housekeepings responsibility in my opinion. I have no issue with cleaning up after ourselves (which we always do) but to be given a list of things we had to do or you’d get charged is insane. When setting up the reservation checkout was listed as 11am. The info given to us after almost 40 minute wait to check in said 10am. Maybe have those times to match? Even being acknowledged to get ice from the overpriced bar for coolers was like pulling teeth. As we watched the bar back dump at least 6 large buckets of ice into the lake. It’s frozen water, get over yourself. Literally everything is priced way over cost. Making your nut on products you offer is one thing but to price gouge so badly is very disappointing. Needless to say we will not be returning to this property."

"Not even close to how place was presented on Expedia. Garbage piled up at entrances no security at door entrance. Unit described as grand suite and as 2 separate hotel rooms with connecting door. Small fridge that barely closed and stove top that did not work. Light did not work nor did remote for tv. Asked for help and was referred to support staff who said “ stove would not be in there if did not work.” Later she finally came to room and could not get to work either. DO NOT BOOK UNKESS YOU WANT TO STAY IN PIT and ONLY PAY 50$"

"On a hot day, late check-in, no air conditioning, instead the baseboard heat was on. Turned the thermostat off but it stayed warm until morning. Very poorly lit premises and hallway/entrance and it stunk like musty smoke. Nothing on the website(s) indicated you have to go a half a block away to check in to get the key, and it would have been very difficult to find that place in the dark had we not randomly run into another guest. There was barely enough shampoo there to wash your hands, and no hot water early in the morning. Not a good way to welcome your guests! After reading other similar reviews one can see for the most part these things are not being addressed! Next time we pass this way we won’t stay here! What a dingy, creepy place!"

"Nice cabin but you can definitely can tell some of it’s been updated but some really need to be. The kitchen was the nicest part of the home. Very well stocked with all the things we needed to cook.The lake was nice but it became clear to us far too late that it was a PRIVATE LAKE which we could not launch our own fishing boats onto. Lots of beds packed in pretty efficiently. Great of you have a bunch of people that don’t mind sharing rooms.The hvac had a really hard time keeping up anywhere but the basement on the 80 day we had.The owner was around on the property and mostly stayed on the other side of a makeshift fence that splits the VRBO from the detached garage. We knew he would be from a message he sent after booking but it did make some of our group uncomfortable that he was in the attached garage a few times while we were in the house. The Star Lake was beautiful and the kayaks, pedal-boat, and canoe were a huge hit for us as we were able to explore and fish on Round Lake and Little Bass Lake through the very shallow channels."
