If you are looking for the 'cabin experience', then you need to visit Sunset Haus! This classic Minnesota cabin won't disappoint. This property was completed June 2020, it is brand new inside and out!!! Done in a true cabin feel, it has a wonderful open floor plan on the main level that features a combined great room/kitchen/living room with a large fieldstone fireplace with plenty of seating for those chilly nights. The main level features vaulted ceilings and a wonderful porch overlooking the lake with panoramic views of beautiful O'brien Lake, including wonderful sunsets. The main level further features 2 bedrooms: a master bedroom with attached bathroom complete with custom tile shower, and an additional main floor bedroom with separate bath and custom tile shower. The main floor has a mud room entry area and laundry closet for your use. The lower level features an additional queen bedroom, a bunk room with 8 built in bunks , and the bathroom is set up to accommodate a crowd, with separate areas for the tile shower room, toilet room and vanity. In addition, the lower level features a game/puzzle table along with a cozy sectional couch and entertainment area with a 75” TV for a rainy day or movie night! The upper level of the cabin has a second Master Suite, featuring a queen bedroom and an attached bath with another custom tile shower. The great room and porch flow seamlessly to a large lakeside flagstone firepit area just steps from the water for those true Minnesotan's (firewood included of course)! For the "grill master" of the family there is a paver grilling area complete with new Weber gas grill and seating to keep the "grill master: company. And lastly, the rental comes complete with a pontoon boat (2020 Bennington) for you to enjoy the lake. For those that need to stay connected, the cabin also includes Wi-Fi and two high definition Smart TVs with cable, and the cabin also has a Sonos Music system, so you can enjoy music while you relax. And don't worry, you won't be “roughing it”, the cabin was done in good taste so along with the granite counter tops, the wood plank floors, and the reclaimed details it also has air conditioning, new appliances, and a Kinetico softened water system. Situated 5 miles east of the town of Crosslake, crystal clear Lake O'Brien is spring fed with a water clarity of 24', the cleanest lake in the entire watershed district. The lake itself is surrounded by mature pines. There is approximately 5 miles of shoreline, of which about a quarter of the lake is undeveloped state owned property. During the summer, this recreational lake is perfect for fishing, skiing, wake boarding canoeing, kayaking, paddle boarding and all water based activities, including floating on an air mattress!! There is a sandbar where you can walk across the lake which is a favorite gathering spot for 'kids of all ages'!! It's location on a quiet tar township road make it perfect for a morning walk or bike ride. During the winter months the lake is perfect for ice fishing, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, and is a perfect base camp to access the endless miles of groomed snowmobile trails. Sunset Haus is perfect for a family, or an extended family, and because of the set up It can work for 4 families with kids, a couples getaway weekend, or a small family reunion - the options are many. We have a strict limit of 16 occupants. There are 4 Queen beds (1 per bedroom), 8 single beds (in the bunk area). We do keep our calendar updated and so if you are seeing availability then it's likely available. Upon reservation confirmation you'll receive a complete 'what to bring' list ahead of your stay so you are prepared for your time up north. Feel free to inquire with any questions you may have and we’ll be prompt to reply! We pride ourselves on keeping our property and structures/equipment pristine and are certain we'll exceed your expectations in that regard. And further, since we also live on this lake, should any questions or problems arise we can respond quickly. In fact, your only disappointment will be when you have to leave!! The cabin itself is super cool and the fire pit is huge. We skipped going out one night and stayed in simply because it’s such a fun place to be. It was everything we were hoping for, for a long weekend away. The kids' favorite part was the bunk/family room downstair. It was super cozy and a great place for them to hang out and relax. Our family had a great trip and had a lot of fun fishing and playing with the little ones at the cabin’s beach area. Just played games, listened to the loons and other birds, did a little fishing and pontoon-ing. The cabin owners communicated with us well, everything was clean and comfortable. I truly was blown away by the decor and comfort level. I would love to be able to stay again. We didn’t want to leave, took our time taking it all in. We have our amazing cabin, but always love to rent a few others through out the year for something different. Far more relaxing with no projects. Fireplace was great. We all had our own bathrooms. Property is in excellent condition, and right on the lake, great for ice fishing. Interior is furnished tastefully and comfortably.
