"The place is amazing given that it is in the middle of a national forest. If you want to have a real snorkeling experience, book a trip to Menjangan island, and not just by the private jetty. "What a fantastic place to relax. From the first moment, when you drive down the bamboo tunnel, you just know its going to be great. Stayed for a couple of nights in a Cliff Tent Pool Villa, which had great views across the ocean to Menjangan Island. The Cliff Tents are well spaced out, so it is very relaxing. Tents are spacious, comfortable and well equipped. Food at both the restaurant and as Room service was excellent, and we had a delicious floating breakfast for both mornings, sat watching deer over the water in the West Bali National Park.. Would highly recommend this place for a getaway, and we already have another booking for our next stay. Just remember that there is not a lot else in this area, other than a snorkelling trip to the island, and you will not be dissapointed"

"Such a wonderful villa! The ladies were wonderful and cooked all week for us, as well as kept the place nice and clean. The food was amazing and they were so sweet. My only issue was a group of young locals who would hang out by the ocean/pool area most nights who ended up stealing some things of ours. It was the same little group in their teens/early 20’s that would be there every afternoon into the evening. The first few days of our stay they hung out at the villa beside us, but then moved on to our area kinda overtaking our pool area and just sitting there for hours, two of them practically making out and all over each other. But that wasn’t the fault of the staff there by any means. "

The rooms are comfortable, the AC is cold, and the outdoor bathroom is a nice addition. The room was cleaned daily. The food is delicious, and the staff is absolutely lovely! "After communicating by whatsapp with someone from Sumberkima Hills Retreat, we knew which villa would be appropriate for us to book. We are in our 70s and have some mobility issues. The villa was easy to access for us and to go to the pools, as well as the restaurants, we could book a shuttle, so we would not have to walk up and down the hills. The problem was that once you were driven there, you were required to walk down, or up many steps. This is just to make people with mobility issues aware of access!! The whole property is truly beautiful and there are amazing views from everywhere you look. From our villa (Asmara 3), we could see the hills and volcanoes in Java, as well as the ocean. At night we witnessed the sunset, and in the morning the sunrise. Taking a taxi down the hills is expensive, so we did not leave the retreat during our 3 night stay."
