My 30-year old daughter and I stayed for five nights at the Relais St Germain. I lived in Paris for a year when I was younger and have returned for visits many times since at increasingly nicer hotels. The Relais St. Germain is a beautiful, exquisite really, Parisian style boutique hotel with the charm of the city, unbeatable location, lovely and intimate main floor rooms AND all modern conveniences, a renowned restaurant and a staff that takes on all requests for reservations, hotel transportation and other tasks with efficiency and attention to detail. We could open our room windows onto our raspberry colored geranium flower boxes overlooking three cafes and classic residential buildings, listen to French music from below, and then close those windows and hear nothing. Our metro stop was not 60 seconds away and a straight shot from the Gare du Nord, where the Chunnel station is. It was 93 degrees in Paris and having access to a wonderful, air conditioned room and bath in mid-afternoon and right in the city was heaven. It is a true Parisian experience. Worth the splurge.
