Great stay at Hotel du Nord et de l"Est
Great value hotel in a convenient location in Paris. The service at checkin / check out was great and the room comfortable. A bit out dated, but that did not bother us.

The staff was really friendly and accommodated our early check-in. It is very noisy in as much as you can hear your neighbors as if they were in your room. We were on the second floor and even with turning off our heater in the room got uncomfortably hot so had to crack the window. Location is great!

Although we have visited Paris on several occasions and always in moderate hotels, this one gave us the largest room of our Paris experiences. The only fault was that the sound of heavy-footed guests could be heard as they travelled to the upper floors.

An OK choice for a few nights on business
An OK price to quality ratio, fine for a few nights on business. Great location, only a 30-minute walk away from the city centre. But maybe don't choose this hotel for a romantic getaway or a family holiday. In my room (36) the wall-to-wall carpeting seemed like it was decades old, full of huge stains of whatever liquids. Also, the smell of mold coming from the bathroom was so strong I kept waking up to it until I got the idea to keep the door shut during the night. There are no air vents in the bathroom, so the air will not move in there. Keeping the room's only window open during the day is a must to circulate the stench a bit.

1.We have not the same room displayed online, very small bed and shower and view to backyard, the heating was on days and nights with temperature 38 degrees Celsius outside, very canicular period. I asked for changing the room and heating off and the receptionist said is impossible. The receptionists rude, not happy to help, to do their duties and responsibilities. Hospitality- terrible. 2. And at checkout asked me another €11,50 for taxes bcz I was in Paris.(terrible) I showed the email of confirmation of my booking which says is everything paid for 3 nights (2 adults) and then a big surprise was asking money more??Why I didn’t have all my information before booking??? I will never recommend this hotel to anyone!! Actually I will warn the people to run away from it. Hospitality terrible, staff terrible and rude, not the same room displayed online, heating on days +nights in canicular period, very noise nights with drunk guesses talking and laughing whole night all! Not professionalism at all! If the receptionists are not happy to do their job follow the procedures and policies of the hotel and (to talk, to help, to give information for guests )why the are doing this job??? You must to consider all those complaints and find new people who love to be receptionists!

The location of this hotel is very good. There are close metro stops and for certain sites it is walkable. The rooms are very small but if you are not planning to be in your room for much more than sleep it's not bad. The people who work there are very nice and helpful too.

The air conditioning was nonexistent but that’s a common problem for older buildings. The room was clean and larger than some of the others we had. The bathroom was tiny but worked for our needs. The extra pillows were nice.

Good size rooms for the price in Paris. Friendly staff. Neighborhood not bad, but not very exciting either. Very metro accessible. Only real complaint is that I had to do some work and the WiFi / internet access was poor.

Hotel is an excellent location. Neighborhood seemed to be safe. Very close to a major metro station. The staff spoke English and are very helpful. The shower is small and that is my only complaint and that is a minor detail. Plenty of hot water and the mattress was firm and we slept very well each night.

Excellent service. The location was also excellent very close to Oberkamf station. Walking distance and close to the Republique station. If you are coming in train from the Airport Oberkamf is closer. Walking distance from the station two minutes). Again excellent location. Restaurants and bakeries all around.

You get what you pay for, only just. We had one of the more expensive rooms on offer €55/night. I dread to think what the cheapest was like. The entire hotel is in desperate need of modernisation. Reception staff are not rude, but not helpful either. Rooms are small. Walls are paper thin — you will get to know your neighbours whether you like it or not. Shower was clean but showed its age with stains and an odd smell, possibly from the drain. Location was reasonably close to Oberkampf and Republique stations, but with Paris' metro that's the case for most centrally located hotels.

Good hotel for the price.. definitely a case of you get what you pay for. Location is great. Staff pretty rude but it's hard to know if it's just the French attitude or if they kinda hate their jobs? Cleaners however were friendly and lovely..they should probably be on the front desk. Rooms very hot but not much you can do about that in summer. I would stay again for location, easy to find and price.

The location was excellent, the hotel itself is outdated, the carpet in the room is stained and the bathroom is high without the possibility of closing. The reception staff was courteous and nice and happy to help with any problem

Really great location and the hotel was ok overall. It’s pretty old and not very modern but a perfectly fine place . We were a bit dissaponted with the room as it was on top floor sandwiched between the noisy lift and the extraction system just outside the window . However another room would probably be a very different experience so we would be happy to return if we could get a better room

Pleasant stay
Overall a lovely stay. Only thing is that the shower was a little clogged but not so much a problem, the shower head kept coming off and they had no still water in their resto. As it was summer, we arrived very parched and couldn’t drink the water from the tap either. My 6yo was so thirsty and had to put up with being thirsty bec she couldn’t drink sparkling.

We stayed in the family room (2 room suite) for 4. We stayed 5 nights and it was a very comfortable stay. The breakfast ( not included) was very good too!

Good value for money + very good location
The staff was helpful and friendly, the rooms were clean and the hotel itself is situated in a quiet side street so no noise from the outside. Our room overlooked a roof so no the most charming view but very quiet and private. Clearly the hotel has seen better days but there was a humble, no frills vibe to it which I liked. Despite the slightly dated feel the rooms were very clean and comfortable. The building had a living room area and yard in which to hang out. The hotel is also near Republique and The Canal St Martin which are cool neighbourhoods. Only downside was the heat as we were under the eaves and the air con was pretty ancient but in their defence we went during a heat wave and they had fans in rooms. Would go again. Personnel très sympa et disponible. Chambre très propres et comfortables. Bien situé dans une petite rue très calme, et non loin de République donc super pour ballades au bord du canal St Martin. L'hôtel en lui même est confortable avec un salon et une cour intérieure mais un peu vieillot ce qui selon moi lui donne une certaine modestie qui n'est pas pour déplaire ; c'est dans les vieux pots qu'on.... Le seul bémol était la chaleur vu que note chambre était sous les toits et que le systéme de clim' était une relique mais on approchait une canicule au moment de notre séjour donc bon, au moins il y avait des ventilateurs dans les chambres. J'y retournerais volontiers.

Cozy hotel in great location
Hotel is in great location, steps from Oberkampf station and very near to Republique station. Cozy cafes and restaurants are easy walks. Room is typically European small but clean and nice layout; water closet and shower are in separate rooms.

Great location and value!
The location is fantastic being so close to Republique metro station there are lots of restaurants close by and we felt it was central to all of the tourist activities. Also there are a lot of restaurants close by so it was an easy walk to grab food after a long day. The rooms are small which is normal for Europe in general but it was everything that we needed. Wifi worked great. Checking in and out was easy and the front door required a key swipe to enter so it was very safe.

Hotel in a good location with great staff
My wife and I were immediately made to feel very welcome upon arrival by the receptionist, who also took a lot of time to explain how best to use the metro and trains in order to help with sightseeing excursions. The room was very clean. Breakfast was fulfilling, varied and served with a smile - again great service. The location of the hotel is excellent, within a few minutes walk from everything you might need. The only downside was that our room was situated near to the passenger lift which disturbed our sleep at times. That Said, all the positive aspects far outweighed this. The great service and friendliness of the receptionist was extended to checkout day, when we were allowed to leave our luggage at the hotel, which was kept in a safe area under lock and key until we lreturned later in the day to collect it and make our way to the airport, again helped by the receptionist who arranged for a taxi to pick us within 3-minutes of arrival. This really did help us extend our stay and maximise our holiday opportunities. We will definitely return in future. Pete & Kerry

Pretty much everything this price can offer
To be honest, you can't expect too much from this price. But this hotel really offered everything considering the price. The location is very good because it is near two metro stations. Most tourist attractions are with in 30 minutes walk. The building is old but very well maintained. The experience was like traveling back to mid-twenty century regarding the decoration and structures. My toilet and bath room were separated into two rooms, which is not common in modern buildings. Although the room was small, they managed to offer a bath tub in my bathroom. I really enjoyed taking a relaxing bath after a day's crazy city exploration. The wifi was slow but acceptable if you just want to surf the internet or watch youtube. One thing I have to mention is that you have to pay a tax when checking out. It's not expensive but not included in your initial booking on hotels.com.

Hotel should be closed down.
This room was disgusting, mould every where, curtains falling off rail, stains on carpets and over the walls, no air conditioning, we were in room 25 asked for a new room was told they were full up, we were booked in for 4 nights couldn't stay in squaller like this and left.

Lovely 2 day stay
Comfortable value for money stay in 11th Arrondissement. Room was pleasant, good storage space,refurbished. Staff was friendly and helpful. Only minor quibble was the free wifi - very slow for anything other than simple email.

Difficult parking, reception staff not very helpful, clean, tidy. Small rooms no facilities like fridge, tea/coffee making facilities, no hair dryer. Did provide a fan when extremely hot though.
