It does the job. A place to get your head down.
It’s what you pay for, a 2 star hotel. Everything looked a little older than on the website pictures. For a place to just put your head down when you need rest it’s good.

“Superior” rooms are not superior. Bed uncomfortable. Top floor room was awfully hot. Nice staff, good 24h hour open reception. Tiny elevator but at least there was one. Reasonably priced but we would not stay again.

The place is more of a short key than a hotel for me. I was looking forward to a proper hotel and the room I stayed was quite small. The frontline staff was very warm and friendly.

The location is pretty good if you want to take train and bus..but the room is too small..and the stairs is dark too.....hallways is the worse...anyways..the receptionist are very kind...they help me when i need help or ask something.

Small hotel but gets the job done
Only 5 minute walk to metro station so location is not too bad. Hotel room is small but clean and well kept. Staff is very friendly and helpful.

Reasonable budget hotel in soso location
I stayed several days. Regarding local area, nothing of interest but metro is a few blocks away and bus stop also near so easy to go somewhere. Police station nearby on avenue du Maine. Lots of people I have to say a bit unsavoury lined up in morning. I came back about 10:45 pm one night and walk from metro I felt slightly uneasy. Very quiet, most places seemed closed. My rooms were fine. I had 2 rooms during my stay due separate bookings. Room attendants are efficient and helpful. Hotel and rooms not especially attractive but certainly okay. Buffet breakfast was value for money. Has a lift, small, but after experiencing no lift in Paris, it was very welcome. Reception staff were all very efficient and helpful. Summary okay if you get a good rate and are on budget. Perhaps not so good for young women who like to be out late.

Get what you payed for.
This was an interesting hote experience. My first trip to Paris and had to learn how to get around the city. Hotel was a good 15 minute walk from both local metro stops. Without luggage was fine, but carrying my things to and from on the first and last day became a hassle. Also hotel is very strict on saving energy. The hallways were pitch black at night, elevator was tiny and cramp, breakfast wasn’t much, and to top things off there’s a nice city tax fee when you check out. I think the worse part of my stay was the fire alarm that went off early in the morning and took minutes for hotel staff to figure out. Initially grabbed all my things thinking it was a real alarm. I was so ready to check out after a day or two, but just decided to accept the hotel for what it was. A place to rest after a long day of sight seeing. My next visit to France I’ll defintely fork up more cash for a better stay.

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights to celebrate our one year wedding anniversary. We've travelled quite a bit and have always wanted to visit Paris so was a bit of a last minute thing, so we opted for staying at an affordable hotel that provided value for money. We spent most of the time in Paris outside of the hotel, it was only really used as a place to sleep and freshen up, so for what this hotel was advertised as it met our requirements and expectations. There weren't too many bad points, only that we didn't have air con which would have come in handy after walking around all day. The good points far outweighed the bad, daily housekeeping was to the expected standard, all receptionists were multi lingual, very approachable and helpful. We had to get a train from Montparnasse station on the morning of check out which meant a simple 10 minute walk from the hotel so the location was very good for that. Furthermore, there were plenty of metro stops within walking distance when venturing to other parts of the city. All in all, we got what we paid for and if we were ever to stay in Paris again I wouldn't hesitate staying here again.

Comfortable Hotel
It's close to the Gare Montparnasse and the train and airport busses. It's a couple of doors away from National Police Headquarters so it is very safe. It's on Subway line #4 and easy to get around town and there are many restaurants nearby. Just up the street is the tallest building in Paris the Tour Montparnasse and the largest shopping mall Galleries Lafayette. It's 8 blocks from the entrance to the Catacombs in Paris. The rooms are not large but they are cleaned daily and they have been renovated since my last stay. The price was around $70.00 a room and I stayed for 5 nights. If you are sightseeing all day and just need a place to sleep at night it is well worth it. I have stayed here twice and will stay again.

Highly recommended for a budget traveller.
This was a very good option for a budget-conscious traveller. The hotel isn't anything fancy but it's clean and well located. It's in a quieter, more residential part of Paris but close to several metro stops, so it's very easy to get to tourist attractions.

Great affordable hotel!
We had a great experience here! Staff were very helpful and spoke great English. So close to the Denfert-Rochereau metro station which made getting everywhere in Paris very simple. Also the station where the train from CDG and the bus from Orly airport comes to. Rue Daguerre is just across the street with tons of restaurants, grocery stores, wine stores, etc. The fridge in the room is also very convenient. Only issue was our safe in the room did not work, but the staff let us put our valuables in the safe at the front desk.

3 days without cleaning my room and boiling water.
I stayed 3 night in the hotel and my room has never been cleant. Shower water was only one option: boiling. The service told me that he could do nothing. It was fIxed the second day. TV going blank after 15mn average. Wifi was included but not available in rooms for 2 days. Depending on the staff at front desk you can get support or not. Location is perfect. Best

The Hotel Du Maine was a good place to stay and I would happily stay there again. The room was small but well-designed and the hotel was located about 5-10 minutes walk from Gare Montparnasse.

Hotel Du Maine, Paris
Love the 14th Arrondissement. This hotel is across from Rue Daguerre and also Raymond Losserand...both interesting streets to walk. The staff were very friendly, we had a great room in the back which had good light and ventilation. The only negatives were the hallway was really dingy although there seemed to be renovation going on. And the hairdryer in our bathroom did not work. Internet does not work in the rooms. The price was very good. I would stay there again.

J’ai effectué une demande d’early check/in nous sommes arrivés à 12h pour une chambre normalement prête à 14h. La jeune à l’accueil nous a dit que la chambre n’était pas prête et c’est tout. Elle nous a même pas proposé de s'asseoir, boire quelque chose ou déposer tous nos bagages. Nous avons dû demander si nous pouvions laisser les bagages en attendant la chambre. Elle nous a juste dit de les mettre sous un meuble … le buffet du petit déjeuner. (Les viennoiseries et le pain sont restés toute la journée sur ce buffet) Bref, en voyant le planning des réservations (très faible taux d’occupation) on aurait quand même pu avoir une chambre comme demandé sachant qu’en plus je l’avais demandé moyennant des frais. Je ne recommande pas.
