Staying above a busy and vibrant market
We've stayed for 5 days which started on a Friday night. The streets were busy and noisy until 3am. You could hear the sound from Vucciria but not too annoying. Actually I kinda like this element of staying right above a market. Sunday night and onward the sound stopped much earlier. About the interior, everything was new and clean. There's WIFI and pretty good air conditioning. Nothing more I had asked for. The breakfast was good and fresh. The owner and his friends are super nice. Totally recommended anyone to stay here.

Overall, pretty good
Overall pretty good stay. Claudio is very nice and breakfast was a nice addition. Be ready to go up 3 flights with your luggage. Also the Vucchiria neighborhood can be quite loud in the evenings. The room was very clean and very comfortable. I would stay again.

Make sure you have organised a check in time with the owner. We arrived and no one home or answering the phone. The owner had gone to the beach for the day. The owner offered ear plugs and I wish we had used them. Super super noisy area. A drug dealer on a scooter drove up and down the street half the night tooting his horn. The owner kindly let us use his fridge to store some food and drink. I had paid for breakfast in the morning and was surprised to see that this consisted mainly of the food we had brought ourselves. Which also meant that packaging had been broken and we could not take anything away with us. As we were checking out, a Korean woman was berating the owner. It seems she had paid three times for the same room.

Delightful host and convenient B&B
Lovely big room, very comfortable large double bed, plenty of fresh air from doors opening to lane below. Delicious light breakfast with big warm croissants, fruit, yoghurt, juice, jams, tea or coffee. Claudio, our host, is a very warm, kind, thoughtful man who speaks good English and who obviously enjoys running his B&B. He took the time to sit down with us, provide a city map and show us what to see in the time we had which was so helpful. The B&B is very centrally located to everything. Note there is a steep climb up three floors to the apartment, no lift. The street was easy to find off the square (don't be put off by the litter on the streets in the area - seemed that was usual in Palermo). Strong, fast wifi. There are little tavernas and restaurants all around serving Sicilian meals - ask Claudia for recommendations - we were not disappointed. We enjoyed our stay. Thank you Claudio.

Very authertic B & B in the heart of Palermo
A very warm welcome awaits guests at B & B Alla Vucciria. No frills, very authentic and a lovely host in Claudio. Claudio gives his time to make his guests feel very welcome and offers any advice that guests require. He is also a dab hand at a Palermo tour - if you are lucky. The B & B is situated in the heart of the old city close to a market and bars and the port. It is dead central for bus travel and close to the main station. The feel of this accomodatoion is just like living in a Sicilian home in a busy town and we thoroughly enjoyed our 5 night stay.

Alla Vucciria
Claudio, the owner, is very friendly and helpful and reassuring. The rooms are large and clean and nicely decorated although the stairwell is being renovated but this did not detract from our experience. The neighbourhood seemed a bit scary at first, our first trip to Palermo and we arrived in the dark but Claudio soon reassured us and we had a great time in Palermo including Saturday evening in the market square close by which came alive with little bars, barbecues and restaurants .
