About this property

South Shore Hideaway | Sleeps 4 | Office

  • Summary:

Welcome to Oshkosh. This updated, remodeled two-bedroom, one-bath home sits on a super quiet street just across the bridge from downtown, one block off the Fox River. You're about 2 minutes from downtown Oshkosh and about 8 minutes from the EAA grounds.

Enjoy super comfortable beds, a beautiful bathroom, a fully equipped kitchen with new appliances, a first-floor office and high-speed WiFi. Outside, there's a yard with a gas grill and driveway with plenty of parking. The Michigan Street Fishing Pier and the Boatworks Park kayak launch are just down the block. With flexible self check-in, it's a great home base for AirVenture, work trips and Oshkosh getaways.

    The Space:

This beautifully updated two-bedroom, one-bath home has decor that will make you feel like you've walked into a Pottery Barn catalog, with plenty of modern comforts for an easy stay.

The fully equipped kitchen has new appliances and everything you need for home-cooked meals. The first-floor office and high-speed WiFi make it easy to work remotely, and the beautifully remodeled bathroom adds a fresh, relaxing touch. Two bedrooms with brand-new, super comfortable beds help everyone get a great night's sleep, and the washer and dryer are free to use during your stay.

Out back, the yard has a gas grill for summer cookouts. Love being on the water? The fishing pier and kayak launch at Boatworks Park are just down the block.

    Guest Access:

The entire home is yours during your stay, including the kitchen, living spaces, bedrooms, bathroom, office, laundry, yard and driveway.

This is a self-check-in property, so you can come and go as you please. Your check-in instructions and personal entry code will come through Breezeway before you arrive.

Please make yourself at home, and respect any locked doors, storage areas or spaces marked private.

    The Neighborhood:

Just across the bridge from downtown, the home sits near Michigan Street and 4th Avenue on a super quiet street with almost no traffic, one block off the Fox River.

Boatworks Park is just down the street. It has the Michigan Street Fishing Pier, an accessible kayak and canoe launch, a shelter with restrooms and a long pedestrian bridge. It also connects to the Oshkosh Riverwalk, which runs along both sides of the river and makes for an easy walk or bike ride into downtown.

You're also close to the Sawdust District, an entertainment area on the south side of the river. Grab a craft beer at Fifth Ward Brewing, a drink at Greene's Pour House at the Granary, or dinner by the water at Dockside Tavern. Oshkosh Arena, home of the Wisconsin Herd basketball team, hosts games and events throughout the year.

Downtown Oshkosh is only about 2 minutes away. Grab coffee at New Moon Cafe or Elsewhere Market & Coffee House, enjoy Italian food at Truffle Pig, or catch a show at the historic Grand Oshkosh. On Saturday mornings from late spring through October, the Oshkosh Farmers Market fills North Main Street.

    Getting Around:

Uber and Lyft are available for trips around Oshkosh and the Fox Valley. It can take longer to get a ride late at night, during AirVenture or in winter weather, so we suggest booking a little early.

The city is easy to get around by car, and two driveways give you plenty of room to park. The Riverwalk is also a nice way to walk or bike into downtown.

    Other Things to Note:

The home is on a quiet residential street, so please be considerate of the neighbors, especially outdoors and after 10:00 PM.

Please use the gas grill with care. Never leave it unattended, and let it cool completely after use.

The fishing pier and kayak launch at Boatworks Park are public spaces. Please follow posted rules, and keep a close eye on children near the water.

Smoking and vaping are not allowed inside the home. If we find signs of smoking or vaping, a $250 fine will be charged. Parties and events are also not allowed.

If you notice any damage or maintenance problems, please message us through Breezeway right away so we can fix them.

    Interaction with Guests:

We want you to feel welcome and well taken care of during your stay. With self check-in and the whole house to yourself, you can come and go as you please and enjoy Oshkosh at your own pace.

Guesty handles reservation communication, including booking details and important stay information.

Clean and Cozy

The house is exactly as pictured. Everything was very clean! Comfortable stay. The bedrooms are up stairs and the steps are steep but manageable if steady on your feet. Highly recommend this place.

Clean and Spacious

Property had all the little touches we needed for our stay from linens and throw blankets to mini packets of olive oil for cooking. Loved the box fans in the bedrooms as I forgot my usual traveling sound machine for sleep.

Green Bay Packers

We came into town for the Green Bay game and we usually get a hotel in Appleton but this was last minute and we wanted something a little bigger. The location was great and if you are in Osh Kosh check out Nigl’s around the corner. This place was full of Green Bay fans and had great prices. Also the location is close to downtown and all kinds of food and entertainment. I will definitely stay again in the future. 5 stars

Oshkosh over Christmas holiday

We stayed at the Oshkosh house for four nights just after Christmas. We were in town to visit family and the house was a great fit for us. It was our second stay with Powerhouse Properties (the first was at a house in Appleton last summer) and they make check in and communication very easy. We had a couple of questions for the host, Mark, and he responded quickly both times. We will definitely look to book with Powerhouse properties again next time we are in the area. Highly recommend them.

Great location for anything that brings one to Oshkosh. The availability of the support staff to answer questions was excellent. Also, many small details were covered like soap and shampoo provided, extra trash bags, ample dishes etc. Quiet neighborhood. A very cozy house. I had a bit of trouble getting audio to work on the TV. A TV in the guest room, large mirror in office, and a footstool in the family room would be great additions. Also, we blew a fuse a few times. Overall, I loved it and will probably stay at this exact property again.

Disliked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication, location, listing accuracy
I guess overall we had a roof over our heads but we were not impressed. We paid for 2 hours early check in and we only got an hour. The house was dirty. Bugs and mice traps everywhere. The bathroom sink was clogged so we brushed our teeth in the kitchen sink. The house had an odor. I spilled a little bit of water on the kitchen floor and when I wiped it up the paper towel was black with dirt. We weren’t comfortable not wearing our shoes. One evening when we got back a man came to the front door saying he wanted to look around at the house because he was interested in renting it. It was just one thing after another and I’m glad we are back home. This is the first time in my life I’ve ever given a bad review. I try to give people the benefit of the doubt but this place is not acceptable and the pictures online are not what it looks like.
