"We enjoyed our stay here very much. The room was lovely, beach was always kept clean and raked. Food was fresh and tasty and we especially enjoyed the daily breakfast specials. It was quite windy for most of our 4 day stay, but when we finally were able to enjoy some snorkel time on the reef we were extremely impressed and wanted more time to explore. "

![From San Pedro Sula we hopped a short flight down to the island of Roatan.  Our original intention was to stay a few days and then head back to the mainland to see some of the other sites Honduras has to offer.

We got to West End and only left to catch our flight back to the States.  It was so low key, the water and sand amazing and our room with a porch and hammock with an ocean view was very affordable!

The scuba diving here was really good and cheap.  If you can't be bothered with that, at least bring your snorkel kit; it's nearly as good as the diving.

![East of the main road in West Bay Roatan, lives a treasure trove of beach bars and restaurants for every flavor.  The Argentinian Grill has a great Happy Hour (Hora Feliz) with amazing food and a beachy open air atmosphere which is perfect for people watching or taking in the spectacular West End Sunsets.  

Please note than in October (low/rainy season) many locals go on Holiday and some businesses close for the month(s).

The included breakfast and everything else we ordered at the restaurant was delicious. The housekeeping staff were always friendly and accommodating for anything we needed and security was always professional and present on the property which made it feel very secure (however, we never felt like it was unsafe anywhere). "We stayed 4 nights and really enjoyed the experience. The lodging is terrific and diving, jet skiing, snorkeling and sailing are right there on the beach. The restaurant and bar (which also serves food) have good food and drinks. However, it often felt as though they were understaffed and running a bit frantic. It wasn’t uncommon to see the wait staff talking when guests were waiting to order or get food. The two restaurants are the main eateries at the resort and there are no restaurants nearby. Unless you have a car, you either hire a taxi or eat at the resort. One evening, both restaurants closed for a private event and all guests had to either eat at the golf club, which was basic and not very good, or take a taxi somewhere. It’s not very logical to close both restaurants and leave your guests stranded. Poor decision. I spoke to the manager, who has been in place only a month, and shared my observations. She seemed genuinely open to the feedback. I recommend Las Verandas, but I would confirm you will have access to everything before booking. "

"Truly the most beautiful beach we saw during our entire time on the island. This private island is absolutely gorgeous. The beach alone makes it worth the visit. The rooms could use some updating, and the food felt more like filler food than anything memorable. That said, the drinks kept coming and the beach was easily the best we experienced anywhere on the island. If you want to avoid crowds and simply enjoy a stunning beach in a peaceful setting, this resort is a great choice. Unfortunately, you will need to wait for them to rebuild. The resort actually burned to the ground the same day we checked out. Quite a shocking end to an otherwise beautiful stay."
