"I recently completed a 5-night stay at the Intercontinental Muscat. While there were some truly standout moments, certain aspects of the service did not quite meet the expectations of a luxury brand. The Highlights: A Masterclass in Breakfast The absolute highlight of our stay was the breakfast. I would give it a "Star Plus" for presentation, product quality, and taste. More importantly, the culinary team—from the Executive Chef to the junior staff—was incredibly warm and welcoming. They truly made us feel at home, and their hospitality in the dining area was the highlight of our mornings. The Room and Housekeeping The cleanliness of the hotel was satisfactory and met basic standards, though there is room for a bit more attention to detail to truly elevate the guest experience. Areas for Improvement Front Office & Reception: Unfortunately, the attitude of the reception staff was disappointing. We did not feel the level of welcome or professionalism one expects at an Intercontinental property. Special Occasion Handling: I had informed the hotel well in advance of my wife’s birthday. Despite this, there was no recognition or even a simple birthday cake provided upon arrival. When I inquired, the staff claimed they attempted to deliver a cake but couldn't because the "Do Not Disturb" (DND) sign was on. This was unfortunately an excuse, as we never activated the the DND sign during our entire stay."

"The hotel was Amazing breakfast was incredible speacialy Vanlapa who assisted us daily to make sure we were comfortable enough,the restaurant only the Indian restaurant was amazing the staff specially Karen and Suman were amazing..the hotel is massive so you can get lost the beach the sport facility the staff 5 star this hotel didn't get an amazing view else were but ive witnessed an excellent top rated hotel let's give 6 stars if we could coz 5 doesn't give it justice."

"A clean new property, very close to the airport. We booked a room for 3, with a sofa bed for our daughter. We arrived after a late flight and it was unfortunate that the bed was not prepared. It took a long time for someone to come and do it, and we all wanted to get to sleep. Would have been quicker to just give us the bed pack and let us do it ourselves. Also a pity that they had run out of duvets so had to use a sheet instead. Room was big, bright and fresh. Roof top pool was very nice."

"Lovely experience from the check in to the check out. Food was of highest standard, Service was outstanding. Gym was very clean and well maintained. House keeping was unbelievably efficient. Beach was an extension to the pool area. Line between adult only and family areas did sometimes get blurred which the hotel were on top of most of the time. Intending to return for sure."

"Very clean and spacious bedroom with extremely great shower. The gym was well equipped and spacious The pool area is lovely, but unfortunately the pool water was rather dirty. Much dirtier than I would want from a 5* hotel. The breakfast food was good but would benefit from some nicer coffee."

"This is not my first stay at W Muscat, and my previous experiences have generally been very positive. However, during this visit, the room service response time was noticeably slow, and in some instances, calls were not answered at all. The staff are usually exceptionally friendly, welcoming, and warm, which has always been one of the hotel’s strongest qualities. Unfortunately, this visit felt noticeably different in that regard. That said, the quality of the food remained very good, and the overall experience was still enjoyable."

"Overall okay, but the reception needs to be more attentive. They hardly answer calls from the rooms. Any information needed had to be collected at the reception despite multiple attempts via the intercom."
